Christians are not taught not to judge as we are required to make right judgments we are not to condemn nor be hypocrites but to judge according to how we ourselves will be judged. Judge not lest ye be judged and not to condemn nor be hypocrites are what we are taught but there is no requirement not to discern right from wrong but not to condemn not judge hypocritically.

you cannot be Christian if you have hate in your heart. That is a spirit on people sometimes called a religious spirit. They judge others so easily because they forget that they were once on the other side.
Scripture says "forgive us our trespasses as we forgive others"
so if they do not forgive others, how do they expect to be forgiven?
We all must have the mind of Christ. If we have the mind of Christ, he sees us through the blood. (perfect-white as snow)
nobody can just say they are a Christian. Their FRUITS tell you what they are.
You cannot even really say that all atheists are communists, because you don't know. Atheists and Stalin all have their place in the bible too. they just think that they can omit themselves. But by their FRUIT they are known.
ever wonder why God hardened Pharaoh's heart (it was God that hardened his heart)
Pharaoh, Pilot, and all evil men in the bible were all part of Gods plan too.
there is always a true and false vine. so close that it would fool the very ELECT if possible.
But the false vines will be cast into the fire.
hope this helps

I am not sure what religion you are because you didn't exactly state that, but that's okay. I am a Christian. There are some divisions of the faith that disagree with the idea of "do not judge". They believe their purpose in life is to expose all evildoers and make them realize their sins, nevermind the sins that THEY commit on a regular basis. In Matthew, in the Sermnon on the Mount, Christ said plainly, do not be so concerned with what everyone else is doing wrong. First, fix what is wrong in your life, and then come to tell your neighbor what they need to fix.
Also, in the Old Testament mulitple times, it says that God judges the heart. Only God can judge someone's heart. Only God can know someone's true intentions. Only God can know someone's eternal resting place. I do think that if a friend of mine asks me point-blanke "is ___ a sin?" I will give them my scripturally based opinion. However, if I am not asked, I am not going to say anything unless someone is harming him/herself and the issue needs to be address for his/her own good.
Christ said many times, love your those who hate you and those who persecute you. I think many Christians are missing out on that point.

Firstly, what do you mean by hatemongering Christians? In what way?
Secondly, to properly apply "Do not judge" you need to first properly understand the context of those words. And Jesus was speaking against hypocritical judgement. If you are guilty of the very act, don't accuse others of it.

This is probably the most misunderstood scripture. If you look up Matthew 7:1-6 and Luke 6:37-42. It best not to judge one salvation. If you tell a nonbeliever that he is going to hell for not believing in God, that judging other. What Jesus was trying to explain is we are to regognize their inadequacies and still love them and let them know that God love them too.
In other words What I do is between God and I, not others. My role in being a Christains is to love one another. I struggle with it too and I think alot of people do too. Remember that God is Loving, Compassion but Just.
He set the rules.
I hope this answer your question if not seek a pastor.

If you say 'God says that if you are hatemongering then you will go to hell', then that is not judging because you said that is what God said not what you believe. It's a fact from the bible. Judging others would be like if I were to tell you that you are going to hell and I have no clue as to whether or not you study and apply Gods' word to your life. Another example would be if you said straight out your going to hell if for doing that or something like that.

Good question. I think the point should be not to distance other people who don't share the same views by our standards, but let the Bible sort out what's right & wrong. We can't judge whether or not someone is a Christian, only God & that person knows for sure, but we can assume someone's salvation by the way they live their life. If their walk doesn't match their talk, the Bible says that lifestyle is worthless. We will all struggle & stumble, but we should correct our flaws & look for the Lord's strength to overcome our shortcomings.

Do not judge lest ye be judged and how you judge, the same standard will be used to judge you.
We are not to judge the state of a person's salvation. It is for God only to say who goes to Hell and who does not. However, there is another righteous judgement such as "don't cast your pearls before swine." Look it up...a good one. It goes on to say if you do, they will be trampled into the mud. Get the idea?
If I am trying to live a Holy Christian life and I know you're a bar-hopping whoremonger I'm not going to hang out with you.
As a Christian I will love you and pray for you, but I will not compromise my salvation and live your lifestyle. Love the sinner, hate the sin.
And yes I know, Jesus hung out with the worst types found in society. I am not Jesus. I cannot do the things He did. He could not be dragged down... I can be.
I can... and I must...make that kind of judgement in order to maintain my own salvation.

in our defense, the only thing I can say is that even though we may be Christians and strive to live like Jesus, in the end we're only human. When Jesus said judge not or ye to be judged he means to not be a hypocrite, always picking at other people's faults and refusing to admit your own.
For example...during Jesus's times, the Pharisees were a group of high ranking spiritual leaders who over the time had become corrupt. They were so obsessed with making other people follow every single law that they failed to see their own wrongs, they were very self righteous.

If you read the Lord's words in context you will see that he is speaking of standing in judgment of someone In a hypocritical way. Or so you can seem superior in some sense. We are all guilty of that Christian and Non-christian alike, but I don't claim to be perfect. This does not mean that we should not try and point out and fight against the evils of our society; every body does that. We just have differing opinions about what is good and bad. Why is it called hate mongering when Christians do it? Is the ACLU a group of hate mongers or are they just fighting for their own brand of morality?

When Jesus said, "Do not judge...", he did not mean that we should tolerate evil acts, just sit back and ignore evil doers. Jesus just didn't want us to unforgivingly condemn people for doing evil things. By judging like that, we are being unforgiving and self-righteous - denying our own sin while pointing out our neighbors' sins. Judge the deed, not the person. Also remember that Jesus said in Matthew 7:3-5, "Why do you see the speck in your neighbor's eye, but do not notice the log in your own eye? Or how can you say to your neighbor, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' while the log is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your neighbor's eye."
