Why does he only want to be my friend??

He tells everyone how much I mean to him. He tells everyone he loves me more than any other female friend. He says I am his type beautiful, smart and strong. He says we can only be friends because he is leaving for Iraq in a few months and does not want to start a relationship. BUT I found out today he has been taking a mutual friend on dates and is talking about having a relationship with her. I am devastated!!

Then through another friend I am told that he loves me but is afraid to be with me?!?! What the hell is going on?? Someone help!

I am in love with someone who doesn't know he has already broke my heart.

Maybe he is not sure what he really wants and doesn't wanna rush things or hurt your feelings.
