Go see the doctor, get him to prescribe you anti-biotics. Sounds like strep-throat. Take care of it asap before you get a fluid back up and end up with an ear infection too.
If you have white spots in the back of your throat, near your tonsils, it's most likely strep.

Drink fluids.
Do not drink alcohol.
Rest your voice.
Don't smoke.
Gargle with warm salt water several times a day.
Suck on throat lozenges or hard candies.
Take a pain reliever, such as ibuprofen or aspirin.
Use medicated throat sprays.
Warm your neck. Holding a hot-water bottle or warm (not hot) heating pad to your neck can further relieve the pain of a sore throat
Mist is a must. Just as your plants become revitalized with a good misting, your dry throat will thank you for using a cool-mist humidifier to moisten the hot, dry air of your home or office
Take acetaminophen. Tylenol or other painkillers containing acetaminophen are best for upper respiratory infections
Swallow some crushed ice. Sometimes ice can cool the fire of your swallow
remember to see a doctor if the sore throat does not heal in a few days...good luck...hope you get better soon :)

It sounds like you may have Step Throat. According to ER doctors I've seen, it can sometimes go away on it's on, but if you have a persistent case it needs to be treated.
Since this is the second time you've gotten a sore throat, you need to see your doctor and get some anti-biotics.

Look down your throat and make sure you don't see any white spots. If you do, it should be a staph infection. I had them really bad as a teenager over and over again. They had to take out my tonsils to get rid of them, now I don't have problems. I have not had a sore throat in 7 years.

you must have had a viral infection 3 weeks ago and now, have another one. drink lots of fluids, treat with pain meds like Advil, watch for a fever over 102.9. if you develop a fever, visit your doctor or urgent care for a strep test. you can also try zinc lozenges found in the vitamin section of the drugstore.

Take about 4 ounce warm water. Mix in a tablespoon of salt, about 2 ounce lemon juice, and either a goody powder of 2 crushed asprins. Use it to gargle a couple of times before bed. It tastes horrible, but it works.

Gargle with salt water and try Listerine too, And the Chloroseptic spray really numbs the pain pretty well. It could be a streptococcus infection or tonsillitis, don't let it go! Strep throat I believe can damage the heart or kidneys if let go. Please go see a Dr. Good luck!
