Yes indeed! A very good substitute and FREE is OPEN OFFICE

u know.. u can just download office 2003 (the trial) build your resume and uninstall office simple. plus, office is better than open office ;)

Try OpenOffice, an open source program that does most of the same things. I personally don't think it's as good, but the price is right!
