Is the promise of a Holy Spirit an individual realization of Christ's presence in our lives?

Or something more physically attainable?

I think you are teasing.

In those terms, the flesh literally 'wakes up'
to the knowledge, the individual realization
of Christ's existence. It then becomes a conduit for the Spirit of Truth.

Hello Blueboot
Acually the Holy Spirit is both an individual realization of Christ in our lives and a very personal helper and comforter, guide, and leader. The Holy Spirit draws us to Christ....He helps us realize that no matter how much we may want to we can not be as good as God and so we sin. Our sin separates us from God and that's why we need Jesus as our Savior. He died for our sin and rose again to show once and for all that He had conquered sin for us. Just like money in the bank His gift does us no good unless we personally accept it and receive Him as our Savior. Once we do that we have the Holy Spirit living in us but we can have Him in even greater measure,

You can read about this in Acts 2 where you'll see what happened when the first Christians got full to overflowing with the Holy Spirit. You'll see more of this in Acts 10 among other places. You will also find Romans 8:26 amoung other places that the Holy Spirit helps us pray when we don't know how or what to pray. He helps us when we need peace or need to live right or need help to love people. You can read that in Galatians 5:22, 2 Timothy 1:7, 1 Peter 1:22. You can read all these verses on line at www.blueletterbible.org and also do a search for the places the Bible talks about teh Holy Spirit.

The very best way to understand the Holy Spirit is to ask God to teach and show you. Once you have accepted Jesus Christ as our personal Savior you can ask Jesus to give you the gift of filling you to overflowing with His Holy Spirit. That will help you understand from experience not just study.

When you get saved you also get the Holy Spirit. But there is a filling of the Holy Spirit. Pentecostals/Charismatics call that being baptized in the Holy Spirit. There are some Pentecostals that believe that you have to speak in tongues to be filled with the Holy Spirit. This is not true. That may happen and a lot of times it does. Being baptized is a great thing it empowers you for the Lord Jesus service. You become equipped to do what He wants. Look in the Bible I Corth. 12 Begin to pray and ask God for this indwelling of His Holy Spirit.

You are right. The Holy Spirit is God's presence in our
lives. In fact, the Holy Spirit is God Himself.

God has three attributes. All are equal, all are one, yet
all have different functions. There is God the Father,
God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. All three were
together at Creation.

God is the Father and creator.
Jesus is God, but the mediator between man and
God.
The Holy Spirit is the action form of God and Jesus.

The spirit moved across the face of the waters at
Creation. This was the Holy Spirit. Jesus was conceived
of the Holy Spirit, the action form of God. God
sent his son Jesus to this earth. Jesus returned
to His Father. He promised never to leave us or
forsake us. And so He left the Comforter, the
Holy Spirit, the action form of God, to live in our
hearts. We cannot see the Holy Spirit any more than
we can see God. But we can realize His presence
in our lives because the Holy Spirit is God.

You will find in the account is the Gospels of Luke and Acts (the two are one book). In that book, we know Jesus asked his disciples to wait in Jerusalem for the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit came.

Some believe that the Holy Spirit is one of three aspects of the Godhead. Other s believe that Holy Spirit is another name for God (God is spirit and God is holy).

Unfortunately that is all we know. It is not the realization of Christ's preset (Jesus is in heaven with his father) and it is not more physically attainable. It is spirit (holy sport) that descends on the apostles.

Answer: Holy Spirit is in Acts 2:4. If you read Paul's Epistles you will see Holy Spirit as related to Christ Jesus, Christ in you.

Direct physical awareness of The Spirit that created all things is not likely. Far be it from me to say that anything is impossible. However a personal awareness of The Spirit is attainable. Once this awareness is achieved a relationship can be established that can have physical results.

The way to experience this is to invite The Spirit that made all things to be a part of your life. That's where you start. Then discuss your personal experience with The Spirit and listen for answers. They will be thoughts you never thought before and ways of understanding that you never experienced.

Do you know me?... no... you can only have some idea through my words here, yet I persist. Why? because you are important and I feel like reaching out... however I could be a highly advanced program from some distant past sent to help you, you are now wondering, you might even be concerned but you will never the less continue to read this fooling yourself that you will still believe what you want to believe until someone changes your mind and if someone can do that then it is possible he could be correct about a few things. So listen to this....

... you are the sum total of your life and nothing more, until you realise who you are! Then you will realise all the little glimpses and dreams and puzzles were trying to change something about yourself... what is that?

I appreciate your soul... it is attainable... my proof... you only wish you could wear your blue boots more often!

I'm not aware of the "helper" you speak of, but I know when Christ acended, He promised a comfortor, which I believe is the Holy Spirt, or Holy Ghost. This comfortor is Christ's spirit that dwells within the redeemed, and provides us with comfort during sad or trying times, and guidance though life's worries.

The Holy Spirit wasn't to be given to everybody who lived. It was only given to those who believed in Jesus and made the commitment to be His and His alone. They had to acknowledge that Christ was God, tell Him that they realized that they had willfully rebelled against God's laws and they wanted God to forgive them for this, and ask Christ to be the Lord of their lives and their only God. Those that did this were given the Holy Spirit as their helper.
