Mary Did You Know. The lyrics are so amazing, everytime I hear this song I really do sense in a way, the motherly love Mary must've felt for her little baby, her little baby who is the hope for mankind. my favorite verse is [This child that you've delivered
Will soon deliver you.]

Mary, did you know
That your baby boy
Would someday walk on water?
Mary did you know
That your baby boy
Will save our sons and daughters?
Did you know
That your baby boy
Has come to make you new?
This child that you've delivered
Will soon deliver you.

Mary did you know
That your baby boy
Will give sight to a blind man?
Mary did you know
That your baby boy
Will calm the storm with his hand?
Did you know that your baby boy
Has walked where angels trod?
When you kiss your little baby
You've kissed the face of God.
The blind will see
The deaf will hear
The dead will live again
The lame will leap
The dumb will speak
The praises of the Lamb

I have three. Two are sweet and sad and speak to the homesickness I have for the Christmases of my girlhood in New England, when my Dad was still living. The third is religious in theme.

White Christmas

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know
Where the treetops glisten
and children listen
to hear sleighbells in the snow

I'm dreaming of a white christmas
With every Christmas card I write
may your days be merry and bright
and may all your christmases be white.

And also "I'll Be Home For Christmas"

I'll be home for Christmas
You can count on me
please have snow and mistletoe
and presents on the tree
Christmas eve will find me
Where the lovelight gleams
I'll be home for Christmas
If only in my dreams.

The last one is Nothing But A Child, by Steve Earle:

Once upon a time in a far off land
Wise men saw a sign and set out aross the sand
Songs of praise to sing, they travelled day and night
Precious gifts to bring, guided by the light
They chased a brand new star, ever towards the west
Across the mountains far, but when it came to rest
They scarce believed their eyes, they'd come so many miles
And the miracle they prized was nothing but a child

Nothing but a child could wash these tears away
Or guide a weary world into the light of day
And nothing but a child could help erase these miles
So once again we all can be children for awhile

Now all around the world, in every Iittle town
Everyday is heard a precious little sound
And every mother kind and every father proud
Looks down in awe to find another chance allowed

Nothing but a child could wash these tears away
Or guide a weary world into the light of day
And nothing but a child could help erase these miles
So once again we all can be children for awhile

Nothing but a little baby
Nothing but a little baby
Nothing but a child

There are many.

I'll Be Home For Christmas.
O Little Town Of Bethlehem.
O Tannenbaum.
Hark! The Herald Angels Sing.
Away In The Manger.

These are classic songs. I'm sure you know the words.

I don't know if it is a Christmas song, but on Jewel's Christmas CD, there is a song. "I wonder as I wander" that is really nice and I find myself singing it often during that time of year. Here are the lyrics:
I wonder as I wander, out under the sky, how Jesus the Savior would come forth to die, for two lonley people, ilke you or like I. I wonder, as I walk on down, out under the sky.
that is is. It continues to repeat. for 2 more times.
If that is not considered christmas the other one would be "Good king Wensles" or "Hark the Herald Angles Sing". Both have an older appeal to them and as they have survied through out the age, their history appeals to me as well as the tune and words. "Hark the Herald angels sing" is a beuatiful song for the soprano, which I am, and it has a sort of angelic feel that makes me almost seem like I am floating. "Good king Wensles" gives me a veiw of how Christmas is not only a time to have fun as a family, but also to help tohers in need, as well as celebrating Christs birth.
Have a good day!!
God bless you.
K.K.

I guess Jingle Bells. I really dislike Christmas music, and my roommate loves it, so she begged me like 3 weeks before Christmas to have it on in the living room. I gave in, then she never even played it. I don't know why, I just don't really care for it at all, and it's all over radio stations right before Christmas. So, i guess it would be Jingle Bells, because I mean, who doesn't like that song!

'"Good King Wenceslas"

I just like the sound of it.

Good King Wenceslas looked out on the feast of Stephen,
When the snow lay round about, deep and crisp and even;
Brightly shone the moon that night, tho' the frost was cruel,
When a poor man came in sight gath'ring winter fuel.

"Hither, page, and stand by me, if thou know'st it, telling,
Yonder peasant, who is he? Where and what his dwelling?"
"Sire, he lives a good league hence, underneath the mountain;
Right against the forest fence, by Saint Agnes' fountain."

"Bring me flesh, and bring me wine, bring me pine logs hither:
Thou and I will see him dine, when we bear them thither."
Page and monarch, forth they went, forth they went together;
Through the rude wind's wild lament and the bitter weather.

"Sire, the night is darker now, and the wind blows stronger;
Fails my heart, I know not how, I can go no longer."
"Mark my footsteps, my good page. Tread thou in them boldly:
Thou shalt find the winter's rage freeze thy blood less coldly."

In his master's steps he trod, where the snow lay dinted;
Heat was in the very sod which the saint had printed.
Therefore, Christian men, be sure, wealth or rank possessing,
Ye who now will bless the poor, shall yourselves find blessing.

Oh Come all ye faithful joyful and triumphant. O come ye o come ye to Bethlehem...

It gives a sense of joy and triumph that the Lord has come and his kingdom shall forever reign, that we are not alone but exist in a community of believers.

"Hark! The Herald Angels Sing"

hark! the herald angels sing
"glory to the newborn king!"
peace on earth, and mercy mild
god and sinners reconciled
joyful all ye nations rise
join the triumph of the skies
with th'angelic host proclaim
"christ is born in bethlehem."
hark! the herald angels sing
"glory to the newborn king!"

christ, by highest heav'n adored
christ the everlasting lord
late in time behold him come
offspring of the virgin's womb
veiled in flesh, the godhead see
hail th'incarnate deity
pleased, as man with men to dwell
jesus, our immanuel!
hark! the herald angels sing
"glory to the newborn king!"

oh, oh, oh
ah

hail! the heav'n born prince of peace!
hail! the son of righteousness!
light and life to all he brings
ris'n with healing in his wings

(mild he lays his glory by)
born that man no more may die
born to raise the sons of earth
born to give them second birth
hark! the herald angels sing
"glory to the newborn king!"
yeah
