Well, drinking a lot of water is not really bad for you because whatever your body doesn't need, you pee out. HOwever, it is dangerous to drink a large amount of water in a very short time. There was recently a death in the news about a woman who died trying to drink a gallon of water in under an hour in a radio station contest. As long as you spread it out during the day, there's really nothing wrong. However, make sure you take in enough minerals because those could be leeched from your body.

It depends on body weight and the amount of electrolytes present in the water. To much water can cause hyponatria (water intoxication) to little can cause dehydration. However hyponatria is extremly rare and usually happens in hazings or as a side effect of extreme thirst from amphetamine abuse. The healthiest amount of water to drink is until your urine becomes clear. At that point your body does not need anymore.

As long as your going to the potty it is safe to drink a lot, but I wouldn't drink much more than that.

That's amazing !! Uuuuum, unless you're doing a ridiculous amount of exercising, yep that is waaaay to much water to be drinking!! 1 US gallon = 4 litres, so that means you're drinking about 8 litres per day??? Even if you accounted for like 80 minutes of exercising per day, that would only make up for 4 x 250ml glasses (at 1 per 20 mins of exercise !!). Geez, to work out how much water you actually need to stay hydrated just take your weight in pounds and half it and that is the amount of ounces of water per day you need to drink. Say, with me, I'm 150 pounds, half that is 75. So I need 75 ounces of water per day. 8oz of water = 250ml (1 glass), therefore, I need about 9.5 glasses of water per day. This only works out to be about 2.5 litres per day and you're drinking 8 litres per day !!!! Either you are trying to drown yourself or you would have to be a giant !!! Please reduce water intake by using method I gave you.......... :0)

It all depends on how quickly you drink it, your physical shape (e.g. weight). It is dangerous when the salt in your body is dilluted too much.
