1) Most of the answers so far only refer to after-the-fact (treating your dry hands after they are dry). You need to also prevent them getting so dry. Please get some good dish-washing gloves. They are available in every supermarket, and many of the brands have soft inner linings. They are waterproof and made of rubber. It's very important that you wear rubber gloves when you wash dirty dishes.

2) When you lotion, leave at least half an hour when your hands can be relaxed. A good idea is to get some cloth cosmetic gloves (but any clean cloth gloves are good), lotion up your hands, and put the gloves on. Keep the cloth gloves on for about 30 minutes to 60 minutes so that your hands can soak up the lotion inside the gloves. Cloth gloves may be found in a drug store in the spa section. Hope that helps!

The Body Shop makes a hemp cream that is really good. Also you may want to get a hot parafin wax kit. It makes your hands feel like butter. Also, try getting a pair of white cotton gloves also found at the body shop. Lather up your hands and put these gloves on before you go to sleep. You wake up with nice, soft, skin.

try anything that isnt oil based or has oil in its ingredients, such as neutrogena cream. lotions don't work well with dry skin. i had the same problem and my question got answer right here on answers! Neutrogena is amazing! I use neutrogena overnight lavendar and chamomille cream on my whole body.

Use your hand lotions after every hand washing???? Or, maybe petroleum jelly, i.e. Vaseline? Dunno if you want to use lotion that often.
