Exodus 4 v. 11 says;
And the Lord said unto him, Who has made man's mouth? or who makes the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the Lord?

Lord made mentally challenged the way they are. The word states that all men should have a chance at everlasting life.

1 Timothy 4;10
For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, specially of those that believe.

Mentally challenged falls into the same category as children under the age of accountability. One can only assume it works basically the same way. If they are capable of believing, repenting, being baptized in Jesus name and filled with the Holy Spirit, and are obedient to the Word then they should have there salvation.

They would be an "innocent" like a small child. The God that I know would not do anything to them except perhaps to somehow make them whole.

Same thing that happens to young children who cannot make a conscious decision about salvation. They go to Heaven.

I think you should consider counseling, or at least some form of intense therapy. Seriously.
