you're generalizing.
i'm christian and i would never criticize any others beliefs.
i believe what i believe, and vice versa.
who cares?
i wouldn't care less what your religion is based on.
can't we all just agree to disagree?

I am a Scientologist.
As for Christians criticizing Scientology, I don't know. I'd tend to think someone being critical had at that point put them self outside of the belief system of Christianity.
Scientology is based on the research and compilation of 35+ years of study!!!!
Ron Hubbard was looking for the answer as to why man had become so degraded. In his search he happened upon the fact that man was provably a spiritual being.
He studied maths, physic, science, theology, psychology, many religions, many races and anything else that may have had real answers. Dianetics was the summation of his studies up unto 1950.
Once he discovered for himself that man was a spiritual being he coined the word 'Scientology' to encompass this new subject.
Scientology is built from the knowledge of all former philosophers and great religious leaders, all of whom Ron pays homage to where due.

Because scientology is based on a book written by a schizophrenic science FICTION writer. It is not because it is a book it is because of the contents of the book. It is cult that is deadly.
Look on http://www.xenu.net and watch the south park episode you can get tons of info that you would have to pay high dollar for if you watch that episode.

human beings can pass audit their f***ing minds out for all i care. on occasion speaking approximately issues can help triumph over them and concentration extra. however the way the Church of Scientology makes you pay 1000's of dollars to paintings up the "bridge" makes it a self-help organisation, no longer a faith. the thought gadget isn't what i'm criticizing as a Christian. it fairly is their suppressive nature and unlawful activities.

Good question. Don't forget that they also criticize Mormonism, Judaism, Hinduism, and Islam (all based off books as well).
By the way, Rigo, Christianity also requires money. It's called tithing.
And Hansel? Many books of the Bible (everything written by Paul and the Gospel of Luke, for example) were NOT written by eye witnesses, but by people who never met those involved. And I find Christian beliefs quite comical, so that isn't a very good criteria either.

Christianity isn't based "on a book", but on the REASONS that book was compiled.
I don't know WHAT Scientology is based on.

I think it has more to do with the fact that the book was written by a sci-fi writer...on a bet.
Could be the parts about alien souls being trapped in volcanoes...or the fact that their "holy equipment" can be bought at Home Depot...or when, after you pay your exorbitant amount of money, the truth is handed to you in a tattered manilla folder...
I never thought I'd say this, but christianity is almost more believable...
And um...Hansel...NOTHING in the bible is an eyewitness account.

The difference is that Scientology is based of a FICTIONAL book written by a famous fiction writer. You know... the one who said, "religion is where the money is"?
The Bible was largely written by people who were killed - rather than paid - for writing it. And those people were by and large priests and prophets instead of composers of lies.
If you can't see the difference, then there's little hope for you anyway.

I thought about it and your question is faulty. Christians don't criticize Scientology because it is based off a book. We criticize Scientology because it is a false religion.

HAHAHAaaaaa.......good times. One was written by people who were eyewitnesses to real events. One was written by a science fiction writer, and has beliefs that are actually quite comical.
