I know there isn't always and exact age for everyone. But, what age would you say is when you really start to feel real love? I am in love with someone who is 3 years younger than me. I know he loves me, but I also feel like I love him a lot deeper than he loves me. I don't think he really understands that love yet. Btw, I'm 21.

I know its love that I feel for him. Its definately not a crush. I would do pretty much anything for him. I think about him almost 24/7.

I fell in love very young as a younger teen. Yes, that was very young. I am much older now and I still feel like what I felt was genuine love. There are different types of love that you can have. When you love different people over the years you will know what I mean. Love is not always the same. Just because one person made you feel butterflies and you were in love, the next person didn't, but yet you were still in love. Depending on the person and the relationship, love can feel different at times. Yes, that person can feel love at a young age. And yes, your love may be different than his. His more sexual attraction yours may be more intellectual or visa versa.

I think you start to feel real love for another person when you realize it is something beyond that powerful feeling of need you initially feel when you are in a relationship. It's when you realize you care about the other person despite their obvious flaws, when you share a bond of trust and respect and when you know that despite anything they may do to hurt you, you will always care about them. When you realize this, that is the age when you feel love.

Love is eternal and ageless. I would say it really is more about findng out what love isn't or having lost the love of someone that you deeply cared about, then you can compare it with what you THOUGHT love was when you were younger. I think that is when you know what true love is. When this happens just depends, but for most of us it is well after we were 18.

Honey, I'm sure you feel what you think is love, but you've got to understand that every love is different except for 3 things.
1. complete and total trust
2. complete and total worship and respect
3. complete and total dispair that the other person doesn't feel the same way.
If he's feeling that, he's old enough to be in love.
NOW, whether he's old enough to express his feelings of love in a meaningful way, or even legally, is up to you to decide. After all, you're the adult in this situation.

You will know when you are in love because well with me you start living and thinking about that person instead of just yourself, and you can see future plans with this person, and you have the same goals and you wont have to wonder Does he love me? you will walk with him hand and hand and have total respect for each other. He will be your lover and your best friend. Every guy you look at you will see him and same for him.

"Love is patient and kind; It is not jealous or conceited or proud; love is not ill-mannered or selfish or irritable; love does not keep a record of wrongs; love is not happy with evil, but is happy with the truth. Love never gives up, and its faith, hope, and patience never fail..." (1 Corinthians 13: 4-7).
That's what love is like... there's no real age in love, but you'll know it when you feel it deep down. Deep down you'll know when to love... because love is forever. Usually experience will give you a better meaning... but after reading this, you'll know what love is. I did... I hope my love for my girlfriend will never end... he have problems, but I pray that it will never end.
Good luck.

hey woman im hear you. there is no def age but i discovered that u have become "enlightened" to wat love actually is when u can tell the difference between love and just liking someone alot. ex: when ur in high school i bet u or ur friends said they loved there bf. but do u think it was love or they just really liked there bf. im 20 and my gf is 18. we have discussed this before. and our analogy is love is alot like a plant. it starts off as a seed and then sprouts out (really likeing each other) but threw your trials and tribulations u get a much deeper fullfilling feeling as ur love plant blossoms into actual love. maybe u have reached that profound actual feeling of wat love really is. but it is possible that he doesnt and you should show him
