They talked me into going to one of their orientations. Should I go? I haven't told my mum and dad yet.

Hello andrewinmelbourne,

The best thing to do is read books and decide if you want to know more.

If you are under 18 you can only read books and attend Sunday services.

You need to tell your parents if you are going to do any more than that.

There are Scientology DVDs and books in many libraries you could borrow them from there and read up yourself.

I just watched a TV special about scientology. Be careful---they will try and get as much money out of you as possible. If you want to go, sure. But take it with a grain of salt

Please no! It is a cult! I worked for a Dentist who took it up and he became possessed by "The Church." I quit his office because he kept making us attend seminars and tests, etc. It is very expensive and very weird. Check out some of the anti-Scientology websites. You can even find people who have died as a result of Scientology because they failed to seek medical help and went to "The Church" instead!

Yes! The Church of Scientology and L. Ron Hubbard need your money!

Well, I'd say go if you're interested, but definitely don't sign up for anything right away. Especially since that belief system can become a giant burn in your wallet. Go & explore, but also read up on it on your own. A LOT.

Sure why not? There you can learn about an alien being god and how the Douglas airplane was built by ET. I am not making this up. BTW-did you know that the more money you pay them, the more evil souls leave your body and you become the chosen one.

Absolutely. I mean, what could be more accurate than a religion created by a science-fiction author for a book in the 1950's.

No. No no no. DO NOT GO.

Scientology is DANGEROUS. Please read this before you decide whether to go:

• Operation Freakout - Their campaign of sabotage & violence against Paulette Cooper, the writer who published her research & findings on several cults, including Scientology. Scientology’s official plan: to frame Paulette, ruin her career & reputation & get her either incarcerated or locked up in psychiatric confinement.
The official plan: http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~dst/Krasel/cooper/frk1.html
Her book (free pdf): http://holysmoke.org/cos/books/scandal-of-scientology-cooper.pdf

• Fair Game - the Scientology policy detailing how the organization may confront & handle critics & perceived enemies. Here is a direct quote: "Enemies may be deprived of property or injured by any means by any Scientologist without any discipline of the Scientologist. May be tricked, sued or lied to or destroyed.”

• Physical and psychological maltreatment: Scientologists who "break the rules" while members of the "Sea Org" must subject themselves to the Rehabilitation Project Force (RPF), which includes regimes of harsh physical punishment, forced self-confessions, social isolation, hard labor and intensive ideological indoctrination.

• Violent Kidnapping - Lisa McPherson was a Scientologist, was involved in a car accident & resultantly became mentally unstable. She was kidnapped from the hospital by agents of Scientology, held against her will, refused proper psychiatric treatment & allowed to STARVE TO DEATH.

Only if you want to go broke....
I had a friend that became a scientologist and it's all about going to classes you have to pay for...they can get up into the thousands of dollars...
so...
If your rich and have nothing better to do with your cash go right ahead.
