Whenever I'm asked what color my eyes are I'm not quite sure what to say. The middle of the iris is light green, in the center (around the pupil) is an amber colored burst and the edge is a very dark green. My parents always told me they were hazel, but I thought hazel eyes usually refererd to eyes with mixtures of brown and amber. My eyes have absolutely NO brown in them. Mine are green and amber. Is that still considered hazel or is that green?

Hazel applies to eyes that have different colors - can be brown/green, brown/blue, etc. I have the same combo as you and consider them hazel.

Hazel.
Your eyes are not completely green. They have tones of yellow[or gold, light brown, whatever] and that makes them hazel.Hazel eyes have many colors, some hazels are just pure amber, and no green at all. Some other hazels are a dark ash green, too. All hazels are different in some way or another, but they are a mix, basically,of earthy colors.

I think it would still be under the definition hazel, but that's just because of stereotypes. If I were you I'd just say that they are Green, or Amber. Whatever you like best.

I would say they're hazel too. You have more than one color in there other than green. If it's a honey, light brown, amber...I would say they're hazel.

My nephew's got the same deadly combination and well he just says they are hazel with green hues. Puts an end to any controversies and confusions! :)
