Modern humans have been on earth for 100,000 years, have been farming for at least 15,000 years and have been writing for about 10,000. Why did God wait so long to send His only son. Wouldn't it have made more sense to send him before everyone split up? By sending him to Israel 2000 years ago, does that mean He didn't care about the people in Asia, Australia, and the Americas at the time? It would have been much more efficient to have 3 or more sones appear to the Roman, Chinese, and Mayan emperors to spread his word. Please explain why God loved the Jews more and chose to "save" them first.

And why wasn't Hebrew the first religion? That seems really weird. There are evidence of many religions much older. (look at the Sumerians)

Oh my God, there REALLY ARE people who think the world is 6000 years old! I've heard of them, but I've never met one. Hello? Dinosaurs? Are you nuts?! People who report Elvis sightings have more credibility.

peilthetraveler - funny you should mention the world being flat. Scientists have never believed that. Even the Egyptians new it was round (the wrote it down). It was the church who said it was flat and even excommunicated Capurnicus for saying the earth rotated around the sun. Something astronomers had known for years. Writing wasn't neccessary while humans were still hunters and gatherers. (most native Americans never bothered to develop a writing system)

You have just found a fundamental "flaw" in Christianity that takes quite a bit of explaining on their part to fix. This is the very question that eventually led to my break with the belief system, and in all honesty I've never heard an explanation yet that satisfied me.

There are answers from within the Christian mythos that say "Jesus went to Hell and saved all the deserving Pagans". This doesn't work for me, for the following reasons.

Let's say you're in Hell, or the "bosom of Abraham" if you prefer. It's reasonable to assume that at that point, having entered the afterlife, you have SEEN the reality of the afterlife and of Hell/God.

Therefore, when Jesus comes to ask you to come with Him, any sensible person, presented with that evidence, would agree to follow Him. (The same argument applies if you assume that this event still lies in the future, by the way.)

Now let's compare that to the state of affairs with human beings today. We are in a world where the the proof of Hell/God is obviously NOT as evident as it was to those pre-Christian Pagans who were already in the afterlife when Jesus came to them. How can it be fair to ask us to make that same choice and come to the "right" decision, based on our relative lack of evidence?

What it amounts to is that the Pagans in Hell/the bosom of Abraham had a monstrous advantage over us, the people of the modern era. Therefore, this version of God is at best unfair, at worst capricious.

NOTE: I'm not saying that the question absolutely can't be answered, just that I have never, personally, heard an explanation that made sense to me.

Modern humans have been on earth for 100,000 years huh? If thats so...why did it take them 95,000 years to figure out how to write? Funny how if you do a time line you see that humans have been writing since about 4000 B.C. The exact same time when Adam and Eve were created. Why didnt all those "modern" humans learn to write in 95,000 years? What are the scientists reason for that? They had normal size brains right? I mean did one day we just wake up and knwo how to write? Kinda makes you wonder how off those scientists are. Remember...scientists use to think the world was flat too. Dont you think they could be wrong about how long modern humans have been around?

I dont wanna answer you but let me ask you one thing.

America and Australia these countries started populated within the past 3-4 centuries.

If men on earth since 100,000 years why the earth was with uncivilized people?

In the end of 14th century AD when Christopher Columbus discovered America, the people were as they were born.
Where was the science and technology for the past 99500 years?

As the prophet in the Old Testament said.., there is a time and place for everything.., a time to laugh, a time to mourn, a time to plant..., and so on.

The Apostle Paul said that Jesus came at the proper time.., indicating God had decided when Jesus would be placed here. God has his reasons.., and trust me on this.., does not have to justify his decision(s) to anyone. I figure he created the worlds and the earth and all life therein - so anyone that technologically advanced has to be wiser than we created beings, and knows exactly what he's doing.

Because God's covenant is with Abraham's seed.

But as to your question, Jesus had to come at that time. Daniel 9:24 says, "Seventy 'sevens' are decreed for your people and your holy city to finish transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy."

The time of Jesus was preordained from before the creation of the world. the two trees in the Garden represent God's righteousness and God's mercy...they also represent the law and Jesus our savior all is according to God's plan for his people.

First of all, modern humans have NOT been on earth for 100,000 years, that is a lie. This world is only 6,000 years old. These scientists with all their theory's just kill me.

Here's my answer to you on the rest of your question; since I have been taught what the Bible says...and I believe what it says...THAT is what I am responsible to. I am not supposed to play God and pretend I know the answers to questions like yours, but I AM supposed to believe in Jesus Christ and His plan of salvation and let God be God and deal with the rest of it.
Satan loves to get us all sidetracked with the what-if & why questions. Don't do it. Have "a child-like faith" and believe what your Heavenly Father says in His Word, because wherther you believe it or not...you WILL face Him one day.
I say these things with love and respect.

That's a good question. Had things been done properly, there also wouldn't have been hundreds of thousands of people sent to hell by that bastion of goodness and love because no one even knew they existed, let alone showed up to tell them about Jesus.
