Hi! My sister is a personal trainer and 3 time weight lifter champ and she really knows her stuff... she says you need to REST any muscle in your body for a day of working out... you will see better and faster results. Also make sure you change your positions with the swiss ball each time you work out... your body will become used to the same ol routine... kinda like after a while you need to add more weight after pressing 150... your body becomes adjusted to it and will require more weight to add tention. hope it helps! ps. she says try to aim for 5 sets of 50 if too much... knock it down to 3 sets of 40. GOOD LUCK!!!

It's not a waste of time, but you'd be better off switching the exercise. For example, one day do your swiss ball, the next day do inclines, the next do hanging knee raises, the next go back to swiss ball but add a twist. You know, keep those muscles guessing. Plus the best way to get your abs to show is by cardio. Burn away the fat on your stomach. If you've been doing those for a month, the muscles are already there, you just may not be able to see them.

Ab's are difficult.
The reason may be many for why you may not be seeing the results you want.
What will help a great deal is that you do varied ab exercises everyday.(sit ups, crunches, leg lifts, side crunches, hyperextensions etc.)
You also don't want to do it only on the ball and you should be doing oblique work as well when using the ball.
Also you may want to ascend in repetition.(This week do 5 sets of 35,next week do 40)
You might want to rest less between sets.
Good luck

You're only wasting your time because you're doing the same thing everyday. You really need to switch up your ab exercises if you want to see results. Try taking classes that offer different routines, like Pilates and Kickboxing. But you're right about being able to work them out almost everyday. They're what's called a quick-twitch muscle, so they repair very quickly.

You have to rest your abs. They are just like every other muscle in your body. 4 times a week should be plenty. Switch your routine up though.

NO!! Do as many as you can, but just do crunches. Over time, situps can really screw up your back.
