That information is relative to the individual. People with more fat than muscle lose more than those with more muscle than fat. I have two examples:
Sex: Male
Age: 18
Weight Before: 178 lbs
Weight After: 198 lbs
Branch: Army
Basic/AIT time: 8 weeks
Sex: Male
Age: 22
Weight Before: 260
Weight After: 200
Branch Army
Basic/AIT time: 8 weeks
The first example is me. I had NO fat, so I gained muscle mass. The second example is a kid that I put in the Army. We worked out for several weeks just to get him to make weight. We he came back to the recruiting station, I didn't recognize him.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.
I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.
It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

I think it depends on what basic training you're going through. I never heard of anyone losing weight during basic anyway.

It really depends on what your body fat index is when you go in. I lost alot because I was fat when I joined. Others who were in good shape to begin with did not loose alot if any.
