the doctor said that he found a clump on my lung and that it could possibly be a tumor. He wanted me to follow up with my primary doctor. this was found by doing a cat scan so i am a little cofused about it if you know about it please write me back and let me know okay

Normally if you are sent for a scan, the scanning place does not give you any information, they send the results to the doctor that ordered the scan.
If the doctor who ordered the scan, told you the results, he should tell you what they mean, and what are the treatment options if any.
Anyway, as I scratch my head , I can only say, if that is what you understand, get an appointment with your primary doctor and find out what is going on, and don't worry about stuff before you know for sure, and if there is a problem, deal with it with the proper information

Clump on the lung is not a medical term. This description could mean anything and not be cancer related at all. Clump of phlegm is the only way I can think of that clump in lung might be used as descriptive term. If the Dr said mass on the lung then you might have to worry about cancer. You need to clarify with your primary Dr what was found and the implications, if any.

hi there again a cat scan can't pick up lumps or tumors very well they only pick up bones when i was diagnosed with mine there sent me for a MRI only this can successfully pick up lumps or tumors. I ending up having a 3 hours operation to have mine removed and only then can they see if it is cancerous. I know exactly how you feel and the best way is to put your live in God hands like I did and I came through okay. One thing you must know it takes time for healing(mine taken 2 years) Good Luck!!
