Why do people accept the evils in our world but denounce God or Religion? Why do people focus so hard in taking out Prayer in schools or anything to do with God. These sames schools where children killing children, children having Children, Children doing drugs etc.

Wouldn't their focuses and protests be better served in helping with these more serious problems?

I can’t imagine that a 5 year olds drawing of such an event would scare me. After all America was founded on raping and pillaging Native American’s and let me tell you back then by the time a child was 5 years old he was shooting a gun might have even had to kill some people in self defense…Yet we wake up every morning and run to Starbucks for a latte with out a worry. Gelfing God did not write that bible, MAN DID the Hebrews, the jews….. After all the 6th commandment is “You shall not murder” a little irony their huh? You gotta learn how to BALANCE LIFE…..
Casandra, What other important things do you have to do SAVE THE WORLD? From EVIL? I think your limited in knowing an actual Christian is what I think. And as for George Bush…hell I can only assume he is in office because people voted for him yet again!! And their you have it evil is accepted. Yes educate your children and teach them the values of LIFE AND RESPECT AND LOVE. Not how to destroy other peoples positive practice.

It's simple: This world rejects God and His word. Many people want to do their own thing and refuse to do what is moral and godly. Homosexuality, for example, is being accepted more and more like it's no longer a sin to be so, but in all reality, it IS a sin - it's an immoral sin - an abomination in the eyes of God. Many people in this world may accept homosexuality, adultery and other acts of immorality, but God does not and never will. Man's acceptance of adultery (marriage - divorce and remarry, cheating on one's spouse, etc), homosexuality, abortion (murder), etc. will never change the fact that they're immoral acts. God says they are all sin and His word is eternal - unchanging. Society today has drifted far away from the moral laws of God and it'll continue on the downward spiral that's it's going - because man desires to sin rather than to abide by the moral laws of God. Taking prayer out of schools is another example of man's rejection of God and His word just as the removal of the Ten Commandments monument from the front of that courthouse in Georgia - another example of this country (USA) falling away from the moral law of God, which this country's constitution and Bill of Rights and Declaration of Independence was founded on. Unfortunately, it's not going to get any better - too many liberals out there pushing the homosexual agenda and promoting 'American genocide' - abortion as well as other deeds of immorality.

I believe ever since children were not being taught by the family that things started to go wrong. I don't ever intend to send my kids off everyday, hoping for the best. The school is the worst place for people who are different. I plan to raise my children as pagans.

Children are not being taught right morals anymore and that means christianity that was once thought as a good teaching basis is not anymore. It no longer holds the same meaning anymore. I do not think Jesus would have wanted a religion that is full of hatred.

Also the government is bascially teaching our children hogwash. Such as go to the hospital when in labor, the police are good people and lawyers will never screw you over. The government is ruining our schools by putting in subjects that they believe is good for brainwashing our children. Most of the time, the kids get it wrong. I think government funding should just go and the community take over, like it did before the Great Depression.

There is a greater corollation between taking prayer out of schools with crime rates of young people than smoking relates to lung cancer.

When prayer was allowed in school, all religions were represented, the students took turns giving the morning prayer, which asked God or Allah or whoever to help the students to learn and respect each other in school. Atheist children were not forced to give a prayer but could simply present a nice poem that reflected harmony or whatever.

If you want to save children, then EDUCATE them, not INDOCTRINATE.

If you want to cut down on teen pregnancy, then do away with abstinence only education. Don't teach them that masterbation is a "sin". Teach them about birth control, and how to use it properly.

If you want to get kids to stop taking drugs (realistically, not take as many), teach them about them. Take away the mystery. Be honest. Lead thru example.

If you want kids to stop killing each other, treat them as equals. Don't cater to the quarterback, while turning your back on the loner. Help the kids from poor families to get into college. Teach them common sense and respect.

Let's leave the class for a second. Find a way for families to be able to have meals together on a regular basis. Allow for parents to be parents...not a friend to their kids (at best) or absent from their lives, due to work (at worst). Quit trying to let the government legislate how you can discipline a child.

A good deal of the problems that we see today come from people arguing about things as trivial as "god in the classroom". If this country would focus on educating kids, and getting them ready for life, a lot of these things would lessen. Spirituality should be taught at home, and the example should start there, as well.

We have no choice but to accept that evil exists in the world. I personally want prayer taken out of schools because it doesn't belong there. If someone wants to teach their child about their religion inthe privacy of their own home, that is their business. But religion doesn't belong in school. How much lower would our educational scores become if our teachers had to spend hours every day educating children about all the religions in the world? That would be the only fair way to do it, though I believe that christians expect that only their views would be taught.
Secular schools are not the only places with violence and terrible behavior. A good friend of mine had to be taken out of the christian school he went to because a group of students started harassing and attacking him and eventually threatened to kill him (and made a pretty good attempt at doing so).
As for helping those with problems, I could say the same thing about christians. Getting up off your pew and doing something would go a lot further than just sitting around praying and bemoaning how bad things are. Many non-christians (myself included) donate time and money to charity and helping others on a regular basis.

Yes, if we all could just focus on changing what is happening in our world it would be a better place. I do think though that religion per se is not the answer to everything. Sometimes it gets in the way of honest debate of what is good for everyone. Same thing goes for people who do not believe in God. We need to (at times) forget about our differences and focus on the good things that we all want for our kids and grandkids.

Yes, that's why we don't want prayer in the schools. There's more important things going on, we don't need to force other people to practice your religion. Thanks, tho.

These schools where the kids are messing up? Most of them are christians, as most americans are christians. Most believe in god, since 97% of americans believe in god. We have these problems with our kids because all the christians are dumping their kids in daycare, divorcing, and pursuing materialistic goals. Don't know why. Just know they're no help at all.

(I'd like to know one person who accepts evil in this world besides George Bush. I mean, really, do you have such a limited exposure to the world that you really imagine that just because someone doesn't believe ancient egyptian and sumerian myths retold by some wandering hebrews are reality, that they accept evil? Your statement is absurd on its face and it makes it seem like you are very limited in your understanding of the world.

A God who drowns, sickens, and slaughters millions, plus repeatedly commands his followers to hurt and kill people, IS evil. It is not appropriate or good to teach about a sicko like that in schools. People who think killing people is admirable can teach their children to worship God at home or in church, so it doesn't screw up the morals of those who don't.

for some damn reason, the goveronment and a lot of people think that because canada and the US are becoming multi-cultural countries, that they are disrespecting people who are of different religions or backgrounds. i personally think it's bullshit. i'm canadian and i love all cultures and accept everyone for who they are and i understand that people have different religions, but why is it that just because different people come to canada and choose to make this their new home, that i can't say "merry christmas"????? if you choose to go to a catholic school, than you should expect to hear prayers and worshiping God and Jesus. like i said...i love all cultures and all people, but if you are one of those people who expect canadians to change how they feel and speak and be quiet about who they worship and why, then maybe you should keep your *** where you live.
