Believe the engine block # is in the 300's. When purchased,
the original owner who traded it in, wanted it back. Led to
believe is a collector's car by the car dealer. Thanks!

All Z's can be considered a collectable. There are tons of z folks around, including myself. I have to tell you though, if its close to the way it was coming off the showroom floor, you will not get top dollar. However, you can get lucky if someone is hungry enough. I just sold my wifes 92 twin turbo for 12k. It did have some mods, but only 40k original miles. This is what people into z's want "Turbos and low mileage". To be honest, the year really doesn't matter. Just a good looking clean body will work. Most buyers will drop a new or rebuilt in right after purchase.

If it is a nice car buy it and enjoy it if that is what you want....but dont be fooled into thinking you are buying a sort after or collectable car. It is old and when you come to sell it you probably wont be able to.

Any car I look at in a yard is always described by the dealer as "rare, hard to find in this spec, the cheapest in town, really popular so youll have to decide now or someone else will buy it"....

It all depends on the enthusiasts and what they are willing to pay for it.

The 84 300zx turbo was a commemorative ZX and is different.

If someone wants one bad enough, they will pay top dollar to have it.

The real collectors are the 240z, 260z and nicely kept 280z s in my opinion.

A 1984 Z? No I dont think anyone would pay top dollar for that car, even at an auction, its just not that rare or saught after of a car.
