i just heard about the general pace incident and this proves to me that liberals are extremely hypocritical.

they demand he apologize for his remark about gays but give bill maher a free pass to voice his disappointment that cheney's assassination attempt wasn't successful.

funny how freedom of speech and tolerance only apply to what liberals agree with. anything they don't agree with, they demand an apology and a firing or even an arrest. but when some liberal says something as cruel as wishing death upon another human being because he doesn't represent his political beliefs, he not only gets away with it, he also gets applauded for saying it. and liberals say conservatives are nazis?

and don't give me that "he's a public servant" crap. so are all the leftist leaning politicians who spew their hatred and say nasty things about their opponents. where's your demands that they apologize??

Maher is rapidly becoming our Ann Coulter. He is increasingly getting loony on us.

He does not represent the left...rather he is more likely to be far left wacko.

Yeah, I'm liberal but he is losing it.

And the above poster also has a good point.

Why are people who ask stupid questions like this so HYPOCRITICAL?
Liberals conservatives labels of greed no mater the clothes or the party they are going to.
It is the system of governance we live under today. Today we see the most corrupt governing body and popualce this nation has ever had to live under and we got idiots fighting on liberals or conservatives as being more corrupt than the other.
Sheeesh, take an open eyed look around, and stop playing their games.
This General should know better than open his mouth on such matters but nto today as we got these religous fanatics gaoding them on inot places they have no right to be, the generals or the far right x's.
That General is a soldier and yes he is a public servent. His job is to field a fighting mans group not worry about how afraid you ae of being atttracted to another man.
Funny how these homphobes say a soldier has to follow orders and kep their motuh shut but that a genral has the right to spout what they want him to spout.
Hypocritical is what this nation is all about from the far right x's to the friggin tree huggers each wrapped in some mind bent self worshipping mode.
Honesty is what is needed and men of Honor to serve nation today and not some groups who think they can best determine everyone elses minds.

Ok, um...Bill Maher is not a government employee who represents high-level military brass like General Pace is. Just like those air-force chicks who pose half-naked in magazines and get kicked out for bringing dishonor to their uniform. By inciting hate towards a group of people, he is dishonoring his uniform more than a girl's rack ever could.

Bill Maher is a comedian and social commentator by the way, and his wages are not paid by our tax dollars, k?

And, just to be clear, there are hypocrites on both sides of the fence. Not all liberals are bad, and I'm sure there are a few good conservatives out there...there has to be (jab! i was being sarcastic, btw)

yes. Is he a public servant we should research that. Hatred is part and parcel for politics in the USA. Gone are the days when you could sit and talk about it. You never hear anyone at work breathe a word about politics. Thats how the popular opinion gets so slanted to the left and right. No centrists or even rational people in the world.

I am pretty liberal, and I have no idea of the incident in question. I know I'm not up on the news of late. Also why do you generalize us all together? I demand an apology from no one.

extra clever to have values and fail to stay as much as them than to no longer have values in any respect ...is what i might say if I have been a liberal. yet i'm no longer. nonetheless, i think of the uncomplicated concept applies. Hypocrisy has no longer something to do with the validity of a given fee equipment. it extremely is why I have not have been given any qualms vote casting for hypocrites or cheats for the extra effective stable. using fact are not all of us, on some point? nevertheless on an precis point i does no longer bypass so a techniques as to assert "by no ability bash people's religions." authentic, a equipment that displays the spirit of a finished civilization is possibly previous the purview of my own shallow ethical judgments, yet won't have the ability to we are saying "this guy is a Christian id-ist" or "this guy is a member of the rustic of Islam" or "this guy is an unreconstructed Stalinist" and draw rather precise conclusions approximately their character and nature? And, taking that even extra, won't have the ability to we, shallow creatures that we are, decide no longer that an all-encompassing equipment is "undesirable," yet that it is incompatible with the spirit of our society and desires to evolve, go away, or face the (non-discriminatory) criminal effects? Like pre-1900s Mormonism or illiberal Islam or pre-Columbian Aztec faith? won't have the ability to we make severe judgments approximately their place in civil society even on the possibility of elevating computing device hackles? Is that immoral?

You should by this time be able to tell the difference between a government official and a private citizen, a comedian at that. One is free to express almost anything but the other isn't. Guess which? It has ALWAYS been so.

BTW: Do you realize how much Bush has changed the climate in this country. We now hate each other when we simply used to disagree.

So you think 4-star Generals should be spreading their homophobic views? And what position of authority is Bill Mayer in?

I thought just a few questions ago someone thought all FAGS should be eliminated! I don't think that person came from the left!

And you neocons have always believed that free speech is yours only! Where have you been?

And you didn't wish death on Hussein or Osama bin Laden? Oh, it is only WHO you wish death upon!
