I realize by reading answers on religion how spiritual people are, did not realize there are so many. I have always envied people with deep religious beliefs. I will now , after reading a question look things up in the bible. I have been reading psalms and proverbs, they really are worth reading, so my answer is yes, it has made me appreciate the good book more.

Not really.

I think sometimes it's a waste of time, more than anything else...sorry to say...

I think any Q&A site that has points and an obscure and ridiculous marking system is bound to attract people of all types, especially gamers...

I must admit though, there were some rare beneficial moments.

My beliefs are my beliefs and I'm pretty confident in them.

However, I have enjoyed reading the answers from many others with beliefs similar to my own.

Not many people can feel comfortable in everyday life admitting they aren't religious. It's socially acceptable to go to work, the grocery store, your child's school, etc. and talk about god and prayer and such...but if you dare mention you don't believe then you are considered "different" and are thought to be trying to stir something up.

I'm quite okay with not being an average american-christian-sheep...but it's still nice to connect with people who have similar ideas.

It has made me realize how some Christian Churches have tried to isolate their members from being open-minded about science and the words of Jesus.

It seems most Church Christians these days quote Paul and Peter instead of the actual words of Jesus.

It has encouraged me to be suspicious of all Bible verses that conflict with the teachings of Jesus.

What does faith/religion has to do with Yahoo Answers?

2007-03-13 17:46:24 · answer #6 · answered by Nancy 3 · 0 1

I think my faith increased as a result of YA because when people would ask me why I would believe in this or that. I would always think about it and reaffirm myself as to why my life is the way it is and also why I believe in God. So from this I was able to answer questions to the best of my abilities.

In a manner of speaking, yes. I'm learning more and more how to look within for the answers and relying less and less on books.
Don't get me wrong, I love books,yet I love
tapping into that 'all-knowing' potential we all possess.

It has been good. Still a Christian. Now just a more amused Christian with some of the people on here. My faith is just fine.

Very good!

Deism is still the correct choice for me. The variety of answers and questions, seems to further cement my belief.

This is a fabulous forum!!

Sure has. When I see some of these questions and answers, I pray for the future of the world, and all those in it. Because some of these are real humdingers.
