ok, so my ex broke up with me at the end of november because he said i didn't trust him. i wasn't ready for it to end and neither was he so we're trying that whole friend thing but it was a text message every few weeks.
all of a sudden, yesterday, we're having lengthy conversations and laughing and talking and just having a good time. then he starts being sweet, honest, and telling me that he wants to settle down and start a family.
so anyway, TODAY, i get to work and his sister, who i work with, tells me she wants to take me out to dinner to "thank me." she says that although things didn't work out with me and her brother, i changed him more than i'll ever know and there's something she needs to talk to me about.
what does this all mean? what's with him calling? he called a little while ago and i'm afraid he's got alterior motives and i'll wind up hurt. what do you all think?

I think that the message is clear. After this long and forced break, he wants to try again with you. As for his sister, I think maybe she wants to know as well how you feel.
Idon't know why you broke up, but it seems that he realized he needs you.
It is up to you to decide and judge if things can work out again.

You need to sit down and talk to him honestly about the situation, don't project. If he is ready to settle down, are you ready? You may be jumping into something that you are not ready to commit to. Having a family with someone just because they want to start a family is something you need to think about. Having children is a life long commitment.

My thinking...he is playing games. But that is just me. Now I would just ask him what is up. Then when he gives you the answer go with your gut. If you think he is playing some games tell him to take a hike. If you think he is legit...go for it. Your call...just remember we can all be jerks.

He might have asked her to tell you that he has a new girlfriend. All you can do it find out what she has to say and THEN ask us questions.
