Hello, I've been thinking about reformatting my computer to start over and get better performance, but I didn't get a Windows XP CD with my computer. I want to know if I can use the serial key that came with my computer, and a Windows XP CD that came with other computers we have to reformat and reinstall windows on the computer that didn't come with a cd.

It depends on what version the CD is. My guess is that the key you got with your computer is an OEM key, thus it will only work with OEM versions of Windows XP. If you use a Retail CD, it will not work.
