I am interested in starting as a true beginner in Photography. First off I am not looking to be swayed to purchase a digital SLR camera.

Okay. I want to start out at the complete basics. Currently I am looking into Manual Focus cameras. Due to the lens supply between canon and nikon those are the two main companies I am looking into. What is the equilavent camera offered by canon that offers the same beginner manual autofocus as the FM10.

Thank you.

I am a Nikon gal, I'm sure the Canon people will chip in if I'm wrong. AFAIK, there is no current manual model for Canon. You can get an old AE1 for a few dollars. Or you can use a film Rebel in manual mode.
