yes, eliminating all that sugar from your diet will make you lose weight....more importantly, it's more healthy. you said that you are drinking water? just keep that up...don't let yourself get dehydrated. i've been in the hospital for that before and that sucked.

As long as you have not added any calories to your diet (to compensate for the soda), you will lose some weight, simply due to a reduction of calories. The best thing to now add, would be to find some sort of exercise to add to your regime. If you've got dogs, walk 'em. Take a walk by yourself. You can lift weights, without weights. Find something in your home that is heavy but liftable. Make sure you use proper form when lifting. Exercise is an important step in the weight lose program.

Dietary changes are not enough. You need to get out and exercise, as well. Make sure you are not eating anything after 7pm. Go to bed early, get up early and take a walk. Cut white bread out of your diet, switch to whole wheat or grain breads. There are many sources online for good exercise regimes and diets for a person your age. Do some research and keep a positive outlook.
Dieting is a lifestyle change, not just a shift in what foods you eat.

Yes you are making a good step in the right direction. Although you are not going to see dramatic results right away, this will definitely help in the long run. Taking a small step like that is an excellent start. Once you get used to not having all that sugar, then try to eliminate junk food. Good luck and stay motivated.

GOOD FOR YOU!!! Yes, it will pay off and the rewards will be worth the struggle now. Your teeth will be healthier, you will lose weight, you will be at less risk for osteoporosis and the milk is very important to a young man your age. I am so proud of you for making a decision to get in shape. While I understand your getting off juices, do not avoid fruit. It is good for you and the fiber is filling and can help stave off hunger. Most fruit is low calorie and contains important vitamins. Good Luck and please post and let us know how you are doing.
