I must lose 6-8 lbs in 12 days in order to make weight at MEPS. I HAVE to lose the weight or they won't let me in.

Liquid diet!

Myabe try a colonic and cleansing diet. Chinese green tea helps - or so I've heard. You can also try the Cabbage Soup Diet. Anything that involves a lot of liquid intake (lots of vitamins and minerals, minus fats and sugars) would help you lose a lot of weight within a few weeks.

Take your desired weight.....multiply that by 9, eat no more calories than that every day and spread it over the day eating nothing past about 5:30 PM. Move around a good bit more than normal...it will happen and fast. It really is that simple.

The only diet that has worked for me and fast is Atkins. I lost ten pounds in a week, the second week I lost 5 pounds, then it tapered to about a pound a week until I lost about 35 pounds. I'm kind of stuck now.

Calorie counting, portion control, avoid sugars and extra carbs. More protein. Walk a lot. Drink extra water. Eat extra fiber, too.

Find how many calories you should have to keep at your current weight then cut by 20-25 percent:

stay away from salt and drink plenty of water. Exercise daily. You can lose 10 pounds just by taking in no sodium and getting rid of the excess water weight!

well, there's this diet where you eat your dinner for breakfast and you eat your breakfast for dinner. lunch stays the same.
i heard it was effective, but i haven't tried it. only because i don't need to lose weight. you may want to try it out, but you may not.
if not, i'd just limit portion size and eat more foods like bread. bread grows bigger in your stomach so you don't feel as hungry. or so my sister has said:)
if you stop eating unhealthy foods for awhile, you should stop having cravings for them so you can control your hunger better.
