The answer to why is people don't, you believe they are worth more, whine more, ect ect ect, if you don't like it change it. Your perspective on the world comes from your experiences, so maybe your perspective is right. But no one can walk in another mans shoes, no one can really understand another mans fight, all we have is ourselves, if we don't fight for ourselves, no one else will. So for those fighting, keep in fighting, for those spending time blaming, then sit back and relax, because that is likely the way you will spend the rest of your life, unhappy feeling unworthy ect. I don't believe I am more worthy then someone else, I do believe I have a right to express myself and stand for what I feel is right. Interesting question though, and I appreciate the effort, it did make me stop and think, and pherhaps you may have made a point or to that I never thought about.

I think you are worrying too much about what others do, and feeling self-important and better than others. Or at least trying to seem that way. I get frustrated with others, too, but you have to give folks the benefit of the doubt. Also, you are lumping a lot of ideas together, I don't think depressed people generally feel that they should get sympathy, most people I know hide it from others. I only talk about my depression on here because it is anonymous and helps others (altruistic motive-I mention the crappy things I do, too). Right now, you are hearing a lot about depression in the news and elsewhere, because until the past few years, nobody could talk about it ever, and there is so much stigma. And people blame you for your problems, whereas if you have other problems, like cancer, people pity you (which probably is awful, too!) Also, I think there is a lack of empathy saying that suicide is the coward's way out. That's a pretty big moral judgment there; you probably haven't been that depressed before, so you wouldn't know. I am suicidal a lot because I am in agony from depression, but I'm still proud of the others I know who are struggling with their own problems, and I actually tell them so.

Well, whatever, that is a rambling response, but I really think you need to find yourself a little more humility. I'm sure you make your big mistakes, too. There are certainly "users" in this life, but that's not most people. I'm thinking you're venting right now and maybe that isn't typical thinking for you, and you're frustrated.

"Noteworthy" and "worthy" are separate issues. The first hails from healthy individuality concepts. The second, hails from unhealthy cultural/social concepts. For example, what I believe is "noteworthy" about me is my passion for Nature. On the other hand, long ago I let my family make me feel "unworthy". As soon as I moved a thousand miles away from them, I suddenly felt better about myself. Notions of "worth" are related to subjective value systems and culturally meaningless comparison. Another example would be, it is "noteworthy" about me that I can still run up a mountain at my age. On the other hand, my "worth" as an uphill racer is low because I would finish last. As for the rest of your question, I've noticed, as you have, that many more people these days seem less spiritually and intellectually strong and lack honor. Partly, that is measurable and true. The reasons are many, but one of those reasons is a cataclysmic cultural upheaval is occurring around the world as globalization happens. Because of economic interdependence between all nations of the world, television and satellites and telephones and the Internet and airplanes and intercontinental nuclear missiles, we are suddenly all bumping into each other, and each other's cultures, faiths, beliefs, languages, etc. And, for the first time since the beginning of our species, there is finally no where for people to sail off to and start afresh in a virgin, unspoiled land. There's a pressure cooker effect going on right now because there's no where to go to escape the madness of corrupt, unhealthy socieities. We are having to learn to stay and solve our problems. All of that's taking a toll on people. And, many are not coping very honorably.

Because once upon a time someone told them they were important and they believed them. So many people run around with this grand idea that being special is important so they think that acting special will make them feel important. The real question is what can you learn from having these people as a part of your life, what do they want/need from you and maybe if you give it to them they will stop being needy. Besides what do you need from them that you keep them in your life anyway, if they bug you stay away from them, if you can't leave them ignore them, if you can't ignore them grin and bear it. Good luck!

I believe we are all made more significant in some areas than others are. We each have our own things that we are better in. Don't you consider yourself to be worth more in some areas than others? I think you should also ask this question of yourself.

i dont believe im more worthy than anyone else! many people however have no empathy for others so it is easy for them to expect good things are going to happen to them, and that they have some right to experience this, they are usually ignorant and egotistical and impossible to change
