In Christianity it is said that God incarnated once into the human being of Jesus. That this incarnation was both human and divine (pretty much like Hinduism says all incarnations of God are). The incarnation of Jesus reached out to others, gave his teachings, but most importantly he became the eternal sacrifice through his death on the cross and is said to have defeated death through his resurrection. Thus in Christianity salvation is attained through faith in the incarnation of Jesus. Some denominations of Christianity merely state that you just have to believe that Jesus was an incarnation of God (son of God), others insist that you must be baptized, receive other sacraments, and live according to Jesus's teachings (and when you make a mistake to ask God for forgiveness for your sins).

In Hinduism it is said that one can acheive moksha through the constant reciting of God's name, by keeping the mind focused on God. Of course in Hinduism there are numerous names for God and many Hindus use incarnations names like Krishna and Rama (and some use yet other names).

The main path in Hinduism that is similar to Christianity would be bhaktiyoga. Bhaktiyoga teaches that devotion is the way to God. That through loving God and having a relationship with God (whether it is God as parent and you as child, you as parent and God as child, God as your best friend, God as a sibling, or God as your enemy...are the types mentioned in bhakti texts...Christianity utilizes the relationship of God as parent you as child). That through prayer, devotional singing, worship, studying texts, and doing selfless service for others who are in need are all ways bhaktiyoga asks a devotee to practice. These are all similar things also done by Christians. Both are said to achieve the goal whether you call it salvation or moksha (liberation).

According to the Christian Bible, of all the men ever created, none was a pure and sinless soul, worthy to make the sacrifice to atone for the sins of all the others. God was forced to send His only Son to sacrifice Himself for the sins of the world in order that all could obtain salvation.

Brightest Blessings

Jesus is the only way first off. God sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins.
