Seriously, like several in the last couple of years, I am a christian, but to each his own, I do know my way inside and out and up and down every new age thing that exists, witchcraft, other religions.
And they pop up telling me they can cast this or that spell
Make me love them, harm would befall me etc
Honestly, it's one of the lesser powerful arts I studied when I did study that garbage(before I was saved) LOL
I wonder if they are organized, or whether it's coincidence, or just heavy in my area?
It's funny, one I laid hands on and spoke in tongues, and she jumped across the room, swore I "stole her power" and from that day forward was convinced I was a high warlock, and not telling her
That was the power of god...LOL

In response to several answers...I didn't speak in tongues AT her-she was laying hands on me cursing me in latin and when she finished I put a hand on her and spoke in tongues...and yeah I think they're fluffy bunnies as the one guy said
And I amy be a christian, but not the typical-believe what you will ya know?
These ones would say all they could do to me-and I'd respond, that they couldn't
and they'd trip and get more and more agitated!
Really I wasn't trying to argue with them
And I studied magick, and personally believe all else is lower then that, and that that's much less powerful then the power of God

Hah.

Seems to me that if you knew Wicca "inside and out", you'd at least know the central and essential tenet of the religion, the Wiccan Rede: "If you harm none, do what you will."

This includes trying to override someone's free will by making them love you, or causing harm to befall them.

So, either the people you met weren't Wiccan enough to know and/or follow the Rede (and thus not representative of the faith), or you're pulling our legs. Me, I'd vote for the latter.

Um. . . .here's two answers (they are not mutually excclusive). From a sociological perspective, they are aware of you--and your knowledge. When someone hears/meets someone with such shared experience, they are likely to be interested. Also (and this is NOT a comment on your fiaith) there is a superficial resemblence between the "magic" of some new age groups/beliefs and the practices of charismatic Christians--so they arelikely to think you still have an interest in their "stuff" too.

The second answer is that there are two distinct groups of these "new age" people. Some--mostly serious members of the wiccans--arepracticioners of a very old, but perfectly legitimate religion (though I don't share their beliefs, they do belong in that category, allong with many other religions). While these people may approach you, they will aslo respect your beliefs and won't become pests. The other group includes a range from people who are searching for emotional support that need psychological counselling to outright practicioners of black magic. And those should be avoided--especially the latter. Whether you believe they have "power" or not--those people are bad news and in many cases downright dangerous. But whatever their place on that spectrum, they will gravitate toward anyone they think is a kindred spirit--and youur past history makes you a prime target.

Ok... I'm guessing you mostly know what the wiccan crowd likes to refer to as "fluffy bunny" wiccans. Christianity has it's equivalent, I'm sure you've met them. You know the ones. They claim to be devout, but have never even cracked a bible, and they "just *know* that it's written in the bible *somewhere*". Same idea. You should realize though, that there are a lot of people who feel exactly the same way about you as you feel about those wiccans when you start talking about the power of god, or speaking in tongues...

Don't sound like any Wiccans I have ever heard of pulling stupid stuff like that except for high school wicca-be's. You know...those punk kids who think they know it all and say crap to show off? Yes.. there are so many other sects of religion that are mmore powerful that Wicca but not ALL wiccans should be classed as those idiots that give the good ones a bad name.
And as far as "warlock"...ewww...that person spent WAY too many hours watching Bewitched!!!!

Hm.. those don't sound very wiccan actually... usually wiccans aren't into the "harm befalling you" sort of thing at all. Much more peaceful.

And you spoke in tongues at someone? That just sounds kind of scary...

I do not quite understand what you mean by "bugging you". It seems that these are people whom you allow to become close to you. If you are so offended by Wiccan/Pagan beliefs, why not simply cease to associate yourself with them and their culture that you claim to "know inside and out, up and down"?

Because you're playing with kids, who are in it for attention.

you'll find well-adjusted Wiccans, and other Pagans, to be far more sane.

And if you suffer from Tourettes, don't call it tongues, it confuses the doctors.

How ironic that a Christian bemoans being bothered by other religions.

Amen, never forget either that the whorish woman seeketh after the righteous seed.

They could be using some of this stuff to try and get close to you.

These things usually happen for a reason...especially where highly psychic people are involved.
The universe is telling you something...what, I don't know. It's telling me something...it's always babbling away...
