By doing this your incouraging him to lose weight. I make fun of my fat freinds all the time. Besides the one who committed suicide, almost all changed their ways!

Why would you call your Christian friend that first off? As a Christian you should feel remorse. Pray and ask God what is wrong in your life; since you don't feel remorse. He will show you. Then repent. Ask forgiveness from your friend.

If you did it with full consent to it and knew it was wrong and would hurt your friend very badly then it would be mortal, but if it was just joking and you or your friend weren't taking it seriously then its venial....but I would say it was mortal.....Thou shall not kill, meaning physically or mentally.

If you said that because of a hatred in your heart then it is mortal, because Jesus said "how can you love me whom you have not seen and hate your brother whom you have seen?"
