iwould go with a light or medium green or a shade of white that looks right to the complexion of the yellow. I would also suggest a brown or tan depending on the cabinets

If you asked me this question in my paint store, I would need a lot more information. Beiges and grays go well with that kind of wood, but so do 85% of the other colors. I would look at your flooring, cabinets, counters and appliances. Assuming that they look good together, find another color that brings them together, or do a shade of one of them to set everything off. A main concern would be your cupboards, some colors will make them blend in and make them unattractive, others will make them pop out and seem out of place, and the right color will simply accentuate them.
Good luck you. I would recommend consulting a local paint store such as Sherwin-Williams (that’s the one I work for). They usually have decorators or other trained staff that can help guide you to the right color.

Actually purple is the complementary color for yellow. greens look good. put the paint sample against the floor and check it out. pick you favourite color and see witch variation looks best.
