I am atheist but I can explain this. Mammal is technical, literal terms. Animal is used figuratively. The man seems to be saying that he is better than animals because he has the ability to think and comprehend and analyze unlike all other animals. So yes he is a mammal but he is not an "animal". It is that simple.

Homosexuality is not something you choose that is a moronic idea whoever said those things is a real moron with a infant like view of the world. We are animals tho the person who wrote that I agree is more like a cabbage so would belong to the plant kingdom. here is a fact you will not like the Bible is satanic it was written by man and Jesus himself said the old testament was wrong an example being he said forgive not revenge. The so called christians who use old testament teaching are so evil they try to brainwash people to do the devils work in the lords name. If Jesus is the truth remember this he hated the church. Ps if there is a creator which I am not sure about he is not the silly bronze age myth who kills children in the old testament do you think killing children for parents sins is a good morale figure.

I am not Christian and I definitely do not agree with that statement made by a Christian person... The reasoning is poor and rather circular... when analysed critically with a logical frame of mind it is seen to be frankly irrelevant.
This person has overlooked the fact that indeed we humans are all animals, literally according to the scientific classification of our species, and figuratively speaking we are also animals.. we all live, eat, reproduce, die and yes pretty much all animals have at least a few individuals who "jump the fence and pork another human(animal) of the same gender." as he/she so eloquently put it...*sarcasm*
In every way that counts we are exactly the same as every other animal on this planet. The only difference lies in our unique ability to express our thoughts and make them into reality, even if that reality is false. Other animals are incapable of expressing themselves as intricately as we do they cant lie to others or themselves.. humans can and frankly the person who made that comment is lying to themselves. We humans as animals, are just as prone to acting according to our animal nature and instinct and we are not the only members of Kingdom animalia to show a propensity towards homosexuality... we are the only animals to worship the expressed thoughts of others of our kind and believe in things that are not tangible in the here and now and may not even exist. We like all other animals are accountable to ourselves, however we are the only ones that try and hold others accountable to our personal expression of thought.. The author of that statement needs to realize that he/she has been forsaking his/her personal accountability as an animal... which is to focus on living your own life and do not restrict the expression of others... we are not all the same that is an accepted fact by most other animals, you dont see a dog ostracising the gay dog down the street because that doesnt matter in the bigger picture of things we're all animals and we all do things that animals do.. better get used to it and realize we arent some "chosen" species that is somehow better and morally elevated above the masses, we are right there on the same level with every other animal on the planet be they lesbian monkeys, heterosexual dogs or homosexual homosapiens..

Thank goodness for you, Zero Cool. I just spent perhaps far too much time on this question (which you've already answered):
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AmtDl.Qr6Gwqhw54W1uldNnsy6IX?qid=20070313194511AAP6BvK&show=7#profile-info-1109d118ff574bed7bdc24c75a4c8705aa
... and it is incredible that this is the first question I saw when I finished.
Anyway whoever said what you've quoted above honestly makes me sick to my stomach. As if the term "pork" wasn't offensive and reprehensible enough, this person is saying that those who do not believe what he or she believes are 'animals'? Blech. ~~*Vomits*~~ It's been a hell of a night and people who post such garbage aren't making it any better. I am so glad for you and those like you this evening; you are all a comfort by your words alone. I love the strength and courage I see in those who spread intelligence and humanity by not taking statements like that lying down.

There is a certain amount of truth to the statement but it's emotionally stated. I think the point that the person was trying to make is we have Free Will and can choose right from wrong. Beasts ( I use this term as we are animals by Scientific standards) are at the mercy of their instincts.

By scientific terms, you could only classify human beings as other mammals. But I personally feel that the desire to seek out God and be accountable for our actions is what seperates us from the animal kingdom. Obviously, we have a higher consciousness than canines and guinea pigs. And its not just about intelligence. Its about wanting more for ourselves, and not being content to follow the same rules as animals.

Hello Fellow Answer addict!
all i will say to that is...
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a NEW CREATION; the old has gone, the new has come!" 2Corinthians 5:17
"Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires." Romans 8:5
"You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ." Romans 8:9
"Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature." Romans 13:14
there is so much more info on this in Romans Chapter 8
We tend to act like animals when without the spirit of Christ recreating us from within

Harmony is harmony; disharmony is the only sin against God. (However you define "God")
Ergo, the above person has missed the whole theme of God, and Jesus, and most of the original Bible. (The 1611 English Translation is rather corrupted)
Added:
The Research Deptartment of the Catholic Church recently announced that Homosexuality is not a sin and never has been a sin. They admitted that the English translation was incorrect in regards to homosexuality.)
Bubba preachers think the Bible was originally written in English, blah, blah, blah.

there's a fault in your theory...
animals have tried to "pork" other animals of the same sex...
i had a cat once before which tried to jump other tom cats...
If you resist homosexuality, have free will and feel that you're accountable to, and accountable to seek God, than you would be classified as:
"Zero Cool"
have fun jumping the fence!

Well, in a very nasty sort of way it speaks truth but it could hardly be attributed to a good Christian. I am appalled that anyone claiming to be a Christian would even consider being so cold hearted, judgemental and deliberately cruel.
