If your throat is scratchy all the time, it's time to visit your doctor.

While you are waiting for the days to pass for your appointment, try using chloraseptic spray, drinking hot liquids (tea, hot chocolate, hot soup, etc.....) and take Advil to reduce any swelling.

But seriously make that appointment. It's a symptom to a bigger problem that needs to be addressed.

Good luck!

If this is a long-term problem, you should go to the doctor. It sounds like allergies. In the meantime, try Gollum Juice. (We got the recipe from the commentary on Lord of the Rings. Andy Serkis, who did the voice of Gollum, drank it all day long to keep from losing his voice.) Get some fresh ginger (you can get it in most grocery stores. Ask the produce person.) Slice it thin and put three or four slices in two cups of water and boil for about five minutes. Add the juice of one lemon and as much honey as you want to make it sweet. The honey coats your throat and helps with the dryness. The lemon and ginger bring down the irritation.

I am a Nurse.... If you smoke you really need to quit. The chemicals in the cigarette/smoke can cause real health problems for you.....
In the meantime, Try some warmed honey, mixed with a little warm water. just let it slide down your throat. If the scratchy throat is due to allergies, then you may need an allergy pill with an decongestant. Ask the Pharmacy Person.

Hope you get better soon,

I'm a nurse and this sounds like an allergy of some sort, try Benadryl. See a doctor if this don't help you. Take care
