If your boyfriend or girlfriend buys you a ring and saids that it's a 14K white gold 1ct diamond ring but u go get it appraise and find out it's 10K white gold 1 ct ring what would you do?!?!
And you CANT take it back... Do you wear it do u leave it sitting in the box and go buy yourself something you really want please all suggestions would help.

Be thankful and wear it. That's a nice ring.
Look at the receipt though, cause the jewelry store may have ripped your boyfriend off. Let him know that it's only a 10K.
Is it an engagement ring?

Umm first of all, if you are given anything you should appreciate it regardless of what carat. It's still a carat, and maybe he was just mistaken by the 10K to 14K. Wear it because it would be VERY rude not to!

i'd rather have platinum.. but remember baby, it's the diamond that's worth the money ;)
in an event, it's the thought that counts.. and if he has to lie to you to impress you.. you obviously don't have the kind of ideal relationship the avereage person wants. consider your materialistic personality before you break his heart :)
