First, unless you're planning on breeder her, have her spayed.
If that's not an option, you could cover any areas she will be staying. Don't feel bad about confining her to a small room for the first week or so.

I did have the same problem in the past with store bought diapers. I don't know if it's something that they are made of or why they chew em, but to alleviate the problem, I made my own. I used regular fabric in the past, but this year I've switched to a soft fabric that doesn't need to be hemmed, fleece, that's what it is. I sewed 2 pieces together and used a soft elastic, put in a hole for the tail. It stopped her from ripping them off. They wash really well and dry quick too. I did stitch around the tail hole a few times so that it wouldn't stretch out. It's really a quick fix with a sewing machine, even by hand, it's fast. Just a rectangle, hem both ends, slide in the elastic, cut out tail hole and stitch the tail hole so that it stays nice. I do baby my dog and she thinks she's human now that she wears "clothes". I just keep telling her how pretty she is in her panties, hey, it worked for me...Sam

I had a minature dachshund who refused to wear a diaper too. But she licked herself so much that she didn't make a mess. We had a large breed dog that never cleaned herself and did not even seem to care what a mess she made. So I have seen both sides of this. i would put the diaper with pad inside back on and put a pair of childrens underwear on her with a hole for the tail cut out that gives you three layers for the little darling to chew off.--lol. Good luck get her spayed -k-

If your dog is discharging blood from the vagina on a monthly basis this may be a sign of a uterine infection and should be checked by a veterinarian right away.
Though it is normal for dogs to discharge when in HEAT so keep her or other dogs away from her and if you don't want to be dealing with the issue have her spayed when she is out of heat being as she isn't pregnant.
And yes it will be a 3 week HEAT session..

Okay, you might think I'm crazy, but we just went through the same thing with my dog a couple of months ago. We had to tie the darn thing to her harness. Believe it or not, it works well! We tied it with cotton strips from her diaper across her back criss-crossed to the harness. It looked like she was wearing suspenders. Not only did it work, but it was absolutely cute and hilarious!

Try spraying "Bitter Apple" on the diaper before putting it on... this might stop/lessen the chewing of the diaper. If worse comes to worst, you might have to put a muzzle on her until the cycle ends... only taking it off when she eats, drinks, or is supervised by you or someone else so she doesn't chew the diaper off. Good luck!

I have the perfect solution. Get her spayed. You will never have to worry about this problem again. Your dog will be so happy she doesn't have to wear those stupid diapers anymore.

if you are not a registered breeder then have her fixed. You have no reason to have an unspayed pet that could possibley get loose and get pregnant or a male could get in your yard and get her pregnant. Cheaper to spay than have that happen
It costs under $100 to have her fixed. well it was for my dogs.

Purchase one of those lil cones to go around her neck, the ones they use to keep doggies from biting wounds or licking medicine .
