I really like this guy but I'm afraid to approach him. I'm not fond of stereotypes but sometimes you just have to use them, right?
Ok. This guy acts flirty with me, he'll do dumb things to make me laugh and he'll smile at me all the time. BUT, he seems gay to me. He's a very well dressed man, wears lip balm, and has kind of a congested/nasal voice. I also think he might just be very dorky. What do you guys/girls think?
(I know it's wrong to assume things about other people but it makes it easier to have a crush on him if I think he's gay.)

really sorry to say but you just described myself and i'm not gay god why is it that if guys choose not to look like we slept in our sports gear were considered gay hello ppl sorry but sports don't rule the world!! the laughing and smiling thing is like me to its just our personality we like foolin around and making jokes its sheer personality the voice thing is odd but i don't think he can help that and lipbalm well no one likes there lips cracking open do they??? and i'm pretty dorky myself but NO i'm not gay so i gotta say no hes not gay cause it seems like he has a crush on you

well metrosexual was often seen as gay even just a few years ago so he very well could be just more hardcore metro then most guys. Lip balm is basicly chapstick is it not & everyone gets chapped lips from skiing or sun so that isnt exactly weird though I cant say I wear it let alone would I often but times have changed so there isnt really a set standard for what signals someone's sexual orientation. My brother use to be shy & quiet which use to be seen as either gay, insecure, or something else nectative yet he's far from any of those things. Shaving your hair even for swim team use to be seen as gay but guys do it all the time for swimming let alone as a way to try & attract women. I had a friend who would shave his entire body for swim season though I guess it made sense it never seemed worth it to the rest of us. Again because of the assumption that he was gay or that the rest of us must be for hanging out with him. Especialyl since the queer eye for the straight guy it has been deemed ok to do things that use to be seen as gay like shave chests. Unlike the old days now adays women dont always like hairy men & while not all men are hair certainly some can be ape like & not exactly appealing. So again times have changed & nothing really hints gayness anymore in fact a lot of things like caring about how you dress or your furnishing is actually good things especaily when dating. I still dont know the point of a dust cover but have one LOL because it seems to give more class to my bedroom.

The only way to know if he is truly gay is to ask him. If he is your friend he'll tell you the truth. Just because he has a nasal voice, dresses well and wears lip balm doesn't mean he gay. Maybe he just likes to look good, have nice soft lips and maybe that's just the way he talks.

What does he do for a living? Sounds like he works in sales. You don't have to approach him.. Just say Hi how's your day so far? He'll know you like him because you are looking at him.. (men are like that) lol.. Is there anybody to ask if he is gay?
If you have to think he's gay to have a crush on him forget it. He don't need any crazies in his life.

Based on your description you definitely do not have enough to assume he's gay. Isn't there anyway you can find out? Do you have a mutual friend that may know his orientation? I'm sure there's a way you can find this out without coming right out and saying it! Come on be creative!

I've known several guys who fit the description but were straight as could be.
If you do have a crush on him, but you don't want a relationship right now, don't react to the flirting. Given his traits he probably doesn't need the rejection.

No he's NOT gay. Gay person DOESN'T flirt with other women. They only flirt with guys. Maybe his lips are so dry so that's why he wears lip balm. Think more BROADLY as why he was doing that.
Suggestion: Get him gurl. He knows how to take care of himself. That means he can take care of you too.

i say if you have feelings for him, or you think you might have feelings for him, go for it, see what he's about , you'll find out sooner or later if he's gay, if he try's to keep puttin off sex then you know you gotta get rid of the fruit, if you dont really feel that much towards him i wouldnt even mess with him, because he does sound gay from what you've written there and that'll just be a whole mess of problems for you, .........

It got to do with their hormones or having too many Males companions does affect a person behaviour but if you r taking him as a friend juz be it or someone special test him in romance..
