Here's a tip: don't use the Bible as a mathematics textbook.

Who says Pi is 3.14? You can use ANY of the various infinite values of PI. No one can say any particular value is right and all the others are wrong.

If you want a ball park figure, THREE is just fine. That probably was more than accurate for the needs of man when the bible was written.

For daily math, 3.14 works OK and that is what most of us use.

For a finely made car engine, you might want to use 3.14159

And for the pyramids, they used a value of Pi so accurate, we have yet to find error in it. (They used a wheel to do their distance measurements, so had a perfect Pi factored into all the measurements., totally by accident.)

I believe the Pi=3 fallacy found in the Bible is extrapolated from the dimensions of a temple as described in the Bible. At the time, their measuring instruments may not have been as accurate as what we have now. I'm not a Christian, but I don't like people taking scripture out of context.

You just now figured that out? The Bible is frequently fallible. You just have to wipe the supernatural mist out of your eyes and read the actual words on the page. Great point by the way!

I'm not a fan of pie.

Oh, pi... yes, that's a good thing... mathematically helpful.
