Hi Kahlein,
Most people recognize and use Vaseline as a repellent from liquids, most specificaly for baby use in diapers, however as a Natural health Practitioner I dont recommend you use it as a general lotion or cream on the body as it clogs the pores and does not allow for toxins to be eliminated, basicaly all body and face creams with chemicals added can actualy add more toxins to the body as it penetrates thorugh the same pores they are clogging. Check out your natural health food store for more healthy, non chemical alternatives.

It locks moisture in. I do not use it but I know an old lady who does, she has doen it since the war when she could not get face cream. It is very sticky but you can beat it with water so it is lighter weight. I also read in Martha Stewart mag that nearly all dermatoglogists use it on their feet. I use it on my eyelashes and lips. It prevents eyelashes from breaking so they last longer and appear thicker and healthier
