I need to be able to send high resolution photos to a computer in a different country. Have heard FTP is the best way. Anyone that knows how to do it that way? Really appreciate all answers. thank you!

FTP is the best and probably only way to send them.
Only problem is, unless the computer on the other end is running server software, it isn't possible for you to log in and upload them.

Have you thought about putting them online somewhere and telling whomever it is you are sending them to where they are and just let them download the pics?

If FTP looks like the answer, load up a freeware Mozilla Firefox browser. Easy download on the web. Decent browser and has a built-in FTP tool that works as well as anything I have seen. Really good stuff. But, it does, as someone has noted, require a server at the other end and access for you to that server. Just FYI, I have taken some photos scanned at 200 dpi (yeah, that is not the highest) and put them on the web as JPEGs. Compressed their size by 10:1. Can't see any difference on a 14 inch hi res screen. That gets them down to the size where you can send them as an attachment to e-mail.

I cant see why an email would decrease the resolution...
But i suppose you could host it on something like photobucket...
I dont think either way should harm the look of it...
if it does then maybe as a last resort i'd use FTP: only because some server aren't FTP capable.

so if interested in photo bucket...
go to...

Compressing the file into parts since emails can only take 10mb in each atachment.
