Why have Western Governments still got the support of their People ?

I had this explained by an Iraqi and an Iranian when those countries were at war. They explained that we were a country with a government of the people, by the people, and for the people.
They did not. This was how they were able to hang at a party while there countries were at war.
What ever we can say is wrong about our government, it was something we made and not something we had forced upon us. When this happens, we support our government because it was something we made, and not something that we considered some one others doing..

And replace them with who? You may think that Western Governments are corrupt and evil, but look at the cold hard facts. People in Western nations live comfortably, and apperantly their governments are doing fine because THEY elected them. In other places where people don't elect their leaders, people are living like animals because the leaders don't represent the will of the people. If Western Governments were really so bad, then we'd be living badly as a nation, and we would elect other people. That hasn't happened, so your argument is bull.
