shampoo works by opening the cuticle(outer layer) of the hair which then allows the cleanser in the shampoo to penetrate the cortex(center of hair) and cleanse the hair strand. conditioner works by closing and smoothing the cuticle to give you soft, shiny hair. If you mix these two together they don't work in order. Two in ones do not work.

The shampoo does work, but the conditioning part won't be as effective compared to using a separate conditioner. All the matters though is if it's working for your hair and if you like it.

Those kinds of products do not really do either thing really good. They do not clean the hair and they do not condition it well. If you like it you might want to use clarifying shampoo onetime per week to get the residue off. Neutrogena makes a shampoo for that.

You should really consider changing your shampoo once a month. Different products have different elements and to prevent build-up, change it up a bit. There are several 2 - n -1 products

I have never liked two in one shampoos. I always have a problem brushing my hair out afterwards. This may sound crazy but I use Suave and never have a problem.

It depends what kind of chemicals and ingredients there are in your shampoo. Look in the ingredient section and go to search it up if you don't know what it is. Something to watch for is Sodium Laureth Sulfate.
