I think sadly, the looks are often the first important thing in whether someone is interested in another person or not. This often causes us to overlook those not physically "perfect" even though they may have awesome personalities. As time goes on, and relationships develop, I think that yes, the importance of personality and looks become equal. But with first impressions, we are just a people that are attracted to pretty things. That's just the way we're wired.

Personality is far more important. If you are with the person for any amount of time as in a long term relationship, looks are going to fade as the years pass. The genuineness of the individual is what matters.

it is definiatly a two sided sword of a question
first if the looks arnt there at all well then i am soory but it is a vain world we live in and an introduction probably wouldnt happen but on the other hand even if yuo had all the looks in the world if you had no personality any introduction would not last

so yes looks are important but personality will rule over all

but thats just my opinion

I think personality IS far more important (think about it...if someone's a complete arrogant jerk, you're not going to be able to live with them very long) however, I am no angel, either...looks are important to me too. I want to be physically attracted to the person and I want her to feel the same way about me.

Personailty is important but less face it there should also be some type of physical attraction. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. That is why we are all attracted to different looks. It is like this. Everyone isn't turned on by the same thing. That is why we were all made different.

To do what? For a husband/wife or career advancement?

Looks is a superficial thing. But it is true that people cut people with good looks more slags than others. But on average, people with looks don't work on their substance and the "dumb blonde" symdrome kicks in. In the career field, name big time CEOs and successful businessmen that are "good looking". Looks became a hindrance at senior level as your peers start saying you didn't earn your way.

Personality is important. I know a few wonderful people who don't have the best of looks.
Some people who may have low self esteem may not have a great personality because of that.
Everyone is beautiful in their own right. n

No personality comes first.. You can get past ones looks if they have a good head on their shoulders..
