The greatest single killer plague that ever came upon us

It is an interesting term used (in my experience) by those who are jealous of the wealth of the Untied States and other 'western' countries.

There is a serious side to this, when people accumulate so many 'things' that that is all they know. They wouldn't feel right if they had to live without them.

The obession people in the "Western world" (mainly meaning America) have with material (innatimate objects). Buying bigger tvs than your neighbor, building bigger houses, desiring bigger cars, more gadgets (TVs in the headrests of your Humvee), name brand clothes, expensive watches, owning 40 pairs of shoes, jet skis, motercycles, two cars to every person in the house, etc etc etc. Basically it is our unsatisfiable desire to have more more more, and living way beyond our basic needs.

We got everything, and lots of it.
The shelves in our grocery stores are almost always packed full. We got gadgets and gizmo's and something to entertain us every moment of the day for the rest of our lives.
We got stuff, lots and lots and lots of stuff. Buy,Buy,Buy.
