Well I was born and raised in the Bronx. Moved upstate when I was in 3rd grade but after High School I moved back to the Bronx. New York City has gone through big changes in the last 2 decades and actually the quality of life has improved greatly. The outer buroughs (Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens) have seen significant improvements due to HUD (Housing and Urban Development) renovating buildings. When you say "The Bronx" to most people they are immediately intimidated because like any big city, it gets its fair share of bad publicity. But the Bronx is actually a comfortable place to live. There are many communities and neighborhoods that certainly make it interesting too. It is difficult to label any place as being safe or unsafe. We take the same risks in life no matter where we are.
