God came in my dream the other night and in the dream he flipped the bible to the book of exodus. What is this mainly about? The lesson? or do i have to read it for myself?

Do you always go to Yahoo! Answers when God talks to you? How odd.

Anyways, you *should* read the book yourself, even if God didn't spell it out for you (or did He?...). Of all the books in the Old Testament, I found Exodus the easiest to read and comprehend.

It's the story of the Jewish people and their exit (i.e., "exodus") from Egypt, to super-simplify.

Read "Who Wrote the Bible?" by Richard E. Friedman for some in-depth yet easy-to-assimilate information.

The book of Exodus is about the liberation of the Jewish people from slavery in Egypt and their 40 years of wondering in the dessert to find the promised land. A dream like that would to me be symbolic of your freedom and a journey you have to take.

well its fairly long. its basically the book starts discussing the jewish people living in egypt as a seperate people group and multiplying to a size too big for the egyptians to handle so they enslave the jewish people. eventually a jewish boy named moses is born and he is placed in a basket and put i the river by his mother because the egyptian pharoh orders every jewish male child born to be killed. pharoh's daughter finds moses and he is raised in the pharoh's house like his son. eventually he is comissioned by God to become an advocate of the jewish people to the pharoh and lead them out of egypt into what was ancient israel. the plagues that are so famous are moses' proofs to pharoh that God is on his side. eventually pharoh lets the jewish people go and the rest of the book and the next 3 books are basically them wandering in the desert where moses gives them the jewish law and there are all sorts of happenings that involve the jewish people. thats a very very very brief overview of a portion of the book.

here is a someone more detailed overview of the book:

for an even more detailed overview look, get a bible commentary on the book of exodus at your local library

The Second Book of Moses is called Exodus, from the Greek word Exodos, which signifies "going out" because it contains the history of the children of Israel going out of Egypt.

Written by Moses, Exodus was written for Israel to show God's people of all ages how He rescues and reveals himself to his own. It is really a continuation of Genesis.

I can give you a quick run-down, but I'd suggest you read the whole thing for yourself. Just add details saying you would like the summary if you want me to edit this and tell you.
