Sometimes this happens when I walk a lot or wear jeans and get water on it. But today I went to the beach and attempted to boogieboard and I was wearing board shorts. What causes this? What can I do? I tried putting aloe vera on it but it just burns even more! It REALLY hurts... I can barely walk. This is happened before but not often and I usually wait it out but OUCH!!!! Please help.. thnx.

It sound like chaffing from your thighs rubbing together. You can actually wear off layers of skin by rubbing skin to skin, or skin on rough fabric. You can try Vitamin E after the fact, but prevention is the best. There are lotions that can be used to make skin slide better, avoid rough fabrics when you are wet or sweating. Be aware of thighs rubbing while walking.

This may sound silly but it will work , buy a can of jock itch spray powder and use it till it goes away after you dry off of course . If the thought of buying it embarrasses you buy athletes feet spray powder it's actually the same thing just different marketing, same ingredients . I"ve had the same problem many times and this does work for sure .

Yes, it sounds like chaffing of the skin. Once it is present, zinc oxide based oinment should provide relief. To prevent it in the future, you can use a moisturizer like cetaphil intensive hand treatment cream (found at most drug stores) or Zeasorb-AF lotion/powder (this is applied as a lotion and it turns into a powder).
Good Luck!

I hate that!! It burns really bad! I tried a product from Monistat, sorry I don't know the name, but it's a spray or a cream and it makes a barrier between your legs so it doesn't happen. For now you could put neosporin/polysporin on it. Good luck!

Same thing happens to me when I go to a water park...
Not sure how to prevent it.
I always put baby powder on it after and I'm good as new the next day.
Gold Bond (Yellow bottle) also helps

The Jock Itch thing REALLY DOES WORK! I have the same problem, I use "tenactin" (sp)? but any anti fungal- the spray or the ointment---- or blue star ointments! it works for everything.
