Ephesians 2:8-9 says-- It is by faith through grace that we are saved and not of works lest any man may boast.
Once you accept what Jesus has done for you than you are saved. You cannot earn salvation.
What happens after you are saved is that you start to live for God as before you had no choice and you served satan.
Romans 10 says--Believe on the Lord Jesus and thou shalt be saved. In order to be saved we need faith to believe the Gospel message.
I hope that this has helped you.

The only active role a person has in their salvation is making the choice to ask Jesus to come into their life and forgive them. The rest, is a gift of mercy and grace through the sacrifice that Jesus made for each and every one of humankind that will accept it. It can not be earned, it is a gift.

No-one can save himself. That's why we need a Savior. Salvation is a free gift from God. However, like any gift it must be accepted. Scripture describes in detail the two requirements essential to acceptance of this gift - faith in Christ and living as though you have faith in Christ, in other words works of Christian charity. Neither faith nor works can earn salvation, but a lack of either one can forfeit salvation. Works without faith are mere humanitarianism; and faith without works is dead faith, which is insufficient as a means of accepting salvation.

A person can not save themself. Salvation is a gift from God for any person who accepts the gift of Jesus. Hard to believe that so many refuse. If you are counting on yourself than you will have to stand before God and tell Him why you deserve Heaven. You will have to account for all your sins. Christians do not face this judgement.

yes christians have an active role in thier salvation. But they cannot save themselves. Only God can save you. But your part in the process is to recognize that you need saving, and then asking for it.

Christians are saved by Christ. It's kind of like, when you're a baby, you can't feed yourself so you have to be fed by someone else. Salvation is basically being fed by Christ.

We can only be saved by accepting Jesus into our heart as Saviour and Lord(John 3:16)We have to make the decision to serve him,and that would be the active role we would play.We cannot save ourselves, but Jesus can save us.God bless.

There are two types of salvation.
The first is when you accept Jesus as your saviour and get saved.
The second is when you work out your on salvation after you are saved.
Confusion?
No. After you are born-again, saved from hell, you then have the right as a child of GOD to be saved from all of the stuff that comes from the curse, sin and satan.
Example:
1. sickness and disease
2. sin
3. accidents
4. attacks
5.poverty, all kinds
These are some things that AFTER you are born-again you can be saved from.
You work these things out yourself with GOD helping you.

No you can`t save your self any time you want. You must feel convictiobn. The conviction comes through the Holy Ghost coming to you. You can then either except God or not, that is your choice.Thats the role ,as you say, that you have in your salvation.Savation is free and you must repent, with out conviction you won`t want to repent.
