Not me! This guy is a successful engineer now retired, loves kids, great cook, high GPA from a major University, art connoiseur. But three years ago he stopped working and moved back in with his mom after having lived 1000 miles away on his own since college. Is the living with mom thing a non-starter?

As to why I'm asking - he's a friend. We think he'd make someone a great boyfriend or husband but he hasn't been doing much asking any more. Was wondering how much the mama effect would weigh into things if we could get him on the trail again.

personally i wouldn't. my future dude's gotta be able to take care of himself, me and our possible future family.

if he can't take care of himself as a single man, it would be a big red flag. we girls like knights in shining armor.

It wouldn't be a non-starter, but he'd have to be pretty sterling in some other ares to make up for this unfortunate circumstance. Also, he'd need to address it right up front as something that is only a temporary arrangement, and have a plan for change.

It depends on the circumstances his mother is passing trough. Or it could happen that he just wants to enjoy spending some time by her side specially if, as you mention, he has been living so far away from his family for years.
Try to know more before making a desition.

Could be the job that kept him from meeting women and getting married. I'd give him a chance. However, if all he talks about on our date is his mother, then I'd have to excuse myself to the ladies room and never come back.

well he's worth a chance but I'm not sure if the majority of women would be satisfied with his living conditions... but I think that anyone should get a chance at love... but maybe it's just me.

No. that is a major turn-off. How would he feel if I lived with my mom and we could never do anything at home? No way!
