My first question would be how do you plan to support yourselves there? LA is pretty expensive and if you don't have jobs lined up or money saved then I think you're question is very premature. I definitely think traveling after graduation is a wonderful experience, but it's not something you should jump into without a LOT of planning. The last thing you want to do is have people say "I told you so" when you come back having failed with your adventure and believe me there will be people that tell you that. I think that if the three of you plan it out and voice any concerns that you may have ahead of time, such as adjusting to living with roommates, how things will be paid for, household responsibilities, etc. Then you'll probably have a good chance of having a great six month experience and quite possibility deciding to stay longer.
Good Luck either way!!

Stay there and enjoy your senior year. At least graduate from high school. Better yet, go to college and get a degree. Maybe even attend school in California. But why do you want to come out here? The glitz and glam? It's just not like that. In fact, life can be very hard on you if you don't have a needed skill. If you think that you want to come out here, be discovered, and be a movie star, join the thousands of other bartenders, servers, and others working minimum wage jobs chasing a pipe dream.
If you really want to come out, get some skills first and set yourself apart from the rest of the rabble out there.

If you can finish school early, why not? I don't know why people are telling you to finish school. You are not dropping out, you are graduating early, right?
Having lived in LA, I'd have to say it's not very different from Pennsylvania, or many other places in the US. If I were you, I would graduate early, get accepted to college, and spend those 6 months backpacking Europe or Asia.

Regardless of whether you go to California early or after regular graduation----Please check out what it takes to become a California resident first for "in state tuition" purposes....this is important...there are a ton of educated, talented and skilled people in L.A. who have to look for work...so you will have to get more schooling...but it is a lot cheaper if you are a bona fide resident...It helps if you actually have a well thought out plan and have the support of your "rents"...You will probably need roommates to share rent so you better check with your friends and make sure they have put thought into this too and have some money...Look in the mirror and decide if this is something YOU are definitely certain about and this is what you want to do......if so go where your spirit moves you...Sometimes the enthusiasm of youth can make up for a lot of stuff....

Are you ready to do this? Yeah it would be fun, but there are a lot of temptations and it is easy to make big mistakes in LA. You are still so young and moving to LA from PA is a big risk considering that this is the age where you start figuring out what it is to be an adult. Many friends have falling outs and it is easy to be jaded by the wrong people...which there are many of here. LA is not nearly as glamourous as people make it out to be.
I think that you should visit here and see if you stand it over the long term. There are many people from the East Coast that have troubles adjusting to the West Coast style.

Stay home and finish your senior year with your friends and family. i have lived here all of my life and if I can communicate one thing it is: this is a hugh city. Good jobs go to those that are educated. Friends are very difficult to make. If you even talk to your neighbors it wil be amazing. It is dry and hot here. Most of the people that more from the east miss the green hillsides very much. I would advise you to come on a sx week vacation after you graduate.

Choices: stay home (does mom do the cooking, cleaning, laundry?), be with friends you know. OR go to Calif., an expensive place to live, with only a high school education, start a career flipping burgers 6am to Midnight 6 days a week to live on and save a bit for the trip back. Want an amazing experience? Finish school and join the Army, driving an M1A2 tank is pretty amazing also.

Do not come to Los Angeles at this time. Stay in school.
California at age 18 is NOT an amazing experience. There are too many drugs, too many liars, too many people who would love to take advantage of a young girl fresh off the boat from Pennsylvania.
Come in the summer for a couple of weeks to visit.
Los angeles is a nice place to visit but believe me, you WON'T want to live here.

STAY AND FINISH HIGH SCHOOL!!!! You only have one Sr. year in your life. Sorry to yell, but I'm just trying to keep you from doing something you'll regret later. L.A. can be a fun city, but it's huge and daunting as well. 13 million people live in the area. It is dirty and there is lots of crime. Unless you're willing to spend as least 1200 p/m on a small apt., you'd be living in a dump- with cockroaches and the whole bit.
Wait till you're older and can get a decent job there- if you ever decide to go.

if you are burned out in school, if you're barely passing and you have no chance or interest in going to college, then i say go for it.
chances are you will end up with a low paying menial job either way, so it might as well be here. we need unskilled labor that's not illegal. At least our minimum wage is higher than PA.
but be prepared to be disappointed. it's not all Beverly Hillbillies and Baywatch here. It's dirty, hot, smoggy, the roads are full of potholes and the traffic is beyond belief.
be prepared to spend every cent of your paycheck on rent, insurance and gas, leaving you precious little money for fun. But hey, the beaches are free, except for parking.
as long as it's only for 6 months, i say, live your dream. otherwise you will live with regrets all your life.
