According to the Passport Canada website, no. (but you do need your proof of identity) The example they give seems to address your question:

If I enter the US by land without a passport, will I require a passport to board a US domestic flight (i.e. Buffalo to Orlando)?
No, the new US passport requirement applies to passengers on international flights only. Passengers boarding US domestic flights are not legally required to have a passport, however, all passengers must show proof of their identity. We recommend you contact your airline to determine their identification requirements.

NO! You don't need a passport to fly domestically within the USA and there is no current plans to change that. A coworker in the office does it all the time - drives to Seattle and flies to Vegas. However, you should check with the airline when booking on what their ID requirements are. (Some did require foreigners have a passport a for awhile.)
